I think about this a lot. I often try to tally up the number of people who would care, and estimate how much they would.
Yeah, pretty much. Three generations after you are gone, nobody will know or care that you existed. Almost certainly a shorter time than that, should you not have kids. But really, should popularity or fame be our measure of success? I dunno.
Think happy thoughts!
:D |
Yeah I think a problem most human beings have as a race is that they often equate success with fame, popularity and money
Which undoubtedly leads to some unhappy thoughts/actions :( Look up the leading reasons for suicides, there's a few that are quite "wtf" |

Bleh, that's prolly not normal |
That's absolutely normal. What is NOT normal is thinking about it all the time, or considering offing yourself. Anyone who gets in that position needs to find someone to talk to ASAP. |

Yeah, I don't think of that all the time. Usually when I'm in a seriously depressed mood, which doesn't happen often.
But it's normal like you said for people to have depressed mood swings, as long as it isn't for a sustained period of time |

I didn't contemplate suicide this year (I don't think at least) but damn the late winter and spring were just dark. Everyday it was just clouded over and dark, it wasn't even raining. If it was raining it would have been better, I find the rain calming and relaxing...
I just wanted to curl up in bed for most of March-June. It didn't begin to clear up till July and then we had a really mild summer (which is ok, but was still sort of odd).
Its the first time the weather here has really affected me at all. |
Dude, you live in Seattle! Isn't the weather always ty? |

Talk to if you could afford it. :p
2011 was alright for the most part.
- I moved into a really awesome apartment and gained a best friend, but I had to deal with two ing awful, ty, utterly selfish, worthless roommates who have ed me out of a lot of money and caused my living situation to be extremely difficult.
- Bad luck with jobs. Finally found an amazing one (now if only the hours were better). Here is hoping for the best.
- Finally starting to play gigs (and play often). Made/making awesome, solid contacts.
- MIAMI. :D
- Didn't get to travel as much due to ty ass roommates being dicks with money. Next year I am traveling all the time.
- Broke up with David in July! Down side of that I haven't even kissed anyone since then. :(
- School was meh this year, especially given the fact the really ed up my loan for the semester (which in turn ed up money I could have used to get those ty roommates off my back).
2012 Looks really promising: two solid jobs, school, getting a new apartment with people who don't suck (and a REAL ROOM so I won't have to listen to people being loud in the living room, endless clicking and tapping of mouse/keyboard RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR at all hours of the day and night) lots of travel planned, more gigs lined up. :] Really excited. |

ups & downs
ups
drove 40hrs in 3 days across the trans-canada highway, saw places I'd never seen before & never will again.
getting a good grasp on who I am, what to expect
saw messi single handedly destroy man utd
local team promoted once and doing well for a second successive one.
settled into new apartment, enjoying location especially and looking forward to 2012
spent my 30th bday playing crazy golf, eating gelato and brilliant food
Hit green in one on a 140 yard hole and got par. I'm sure it was probably the wrong green the way I swing but I'm still proud of it.
downs
saw my brothers father in law for the last time. he's terminal & an awesome guy, learned so much from him in the 3 weeks of my life i've spent with him, can see why they adore him.
I went to manchester airport. It's not pretty.
health still not great but making progess at least. |

Its ty end of November through usually end of March. Then it starts to get better. Spring is usually rainy but not constant, it will be bright and sunny one day and then rainy the next. Summer usually gets pretty warm, in the 80s and 90s, some times it will be in the 100s for days at a time (that sucks ass cause it stays humid, but not super humid like the south, 40-60% humidity).
This year though it was just gray skies, no definition to them, just flat gray. No rain, no sun, just totally mute. Some days you'd get billowing black clouds that would roll in and then go away. It was very strange. I read someplace (and I really wish I could remember where) that this was one of the lowest light level years in the PNW, in terms of some measure of light. |

Well yeah, professionals are pricey. But if you have a good friend who will listen, that's almost just as good.

I'd never ever confess the that bothers me to a friend. I don't want to burden them.
No we are... its the other two... the ones that live upstairs. Though I would be lying if I didn't say there are nights when I want to break that ing mouse so I don't have to listen to hours of 'clickclickclickclickclick click click clickclickclickclickclick clickclickclick click click clickclickclick TYPETYPETYPE clickclick' when he plays WoW all night. :p |
