- Third year of marriage (fourth as a couple) and really enjoying the stability and ever-evolving friendship this sort of committment provides.
- Unloaded decades of old family baggage, through deep bodywork via the expert hands of my shiatsu teacher, combined with plenty of exercise, which has simply made being me much more bearable.
- Moved out of our residence of 2.5 years as we'd just had enough of our skinflint landlord's dickishness. Thought we'd found a better place for less, but that turned out to be an unmitigated disaster. Stayed there 5 months, then moved into a spankin' new live/work space with a caring and conscientious landlord; perfect for our rapidly growing shiatsu practice, my need to bang out loud tunes, and our want to be closer to nature (hello Humber Valley!).
-Finances could be better, but from what I see going on elsewhere, could definitely be worse.
As I get older, I pay less and less attention to each year as a whole - it's more of a moment to moment thing, and if I look closely enough (or stand back far enough), it all seems to balance out. |

1/2 of my 2011 was being stressed and depressed at work.
1/4 was dealing with a random onslaught of (as yet uncontrollable) asthma.
The rest was rather peachy. |

Studies are now showing a strong correlation between increased levels of stress and onset/outbreaks of asthma.
So, probably not as random as you might think. ;) |

-spent much time with my best friends back home (the ones i had kept in touch with while being in LA)
-reconnected with some friends from back home who i hadn't kept in contact with
-fell in love with nyc all over again
-endeavored to learn how to cook (well, decently enough..). currently cook almost all of my meals
-stopped drinking alcohol i don't like the taste of ( you vodka)
-got my together w/r/t school, etc.
-reaccepted to university (had ed up previously...)
-returned to LA to finish up school
-succeeded in my first semester back.
-came to better understand this depression/lack of self-respect that has been really getting to me over the past few months (where i'd previously had it in control before). considering giving in and seeing a therapist (which i would think of as some sort of win for me)
-upon returning to LA, realized that most of my friends from my initial go at school there are just as in' lame as i always though. we have nothing in common and my constantly trying to make them happy instead of looking out for myself was a serious factor in my -up-ery.
-made a few really nice new friends in LA
-improved my german
-banged 2 girls over the age of 30
-banged 2 girls under the age of 19
-few other things to be happy about, few other things to be sad about.
i think i had a pretty balanced year, all in all. |

| Mine could have been a lot better, but for what its worth it wasn't all that bad. I'm hoping 2012 is a much better and bigger year for me, I have so much planned for it. |

Mine was interesting. The only good part was really music. Released 11 original tracks, and 4 remixes, under 3 different names on 5 different labels. Had oakey play a remix on both his radioshows, and had a bit of smaller support, though not heaps....
Hopefully get to Japan this year, which would be awesome :) |

| I must say that 2012 has already been a lot better than 2011. This time last year I had flu, could barely move with back pain, was unemployed and miserable as hell. |

| I feel like 2011 went by so quickly - because all I had on my radar for the year was graduating and getting a job. The months leading up to each sort of just faded in the background. That said, 2011 was amazing. I achieved everything I was working towards. Graduated cum laude and won the nursing praxis award, and got a sweet ing job on the cardiac unit at the local hospital. Never in my life have I felt I deserved anything more than achieving these goals. It feels so good to get exactly what I want. Although I usually do. :o |
