100% right. when you drive recklessly with someone else in the car, you're putting more than just your own life at risk. "racing" a semi to a merge is about the stupidest thing you could do on the road. i hope you're obligated to take defensive driving sometime.
also, i will admit i have driven when i clearly should not have, and it was scary as in retrospect. i tapped someone's bumper at a red light... thankfully there was no damage and he didn't care, but damn. that could have been really bad. after that, i always made sure i had a DD. |

| People who get into bad car accidents who only had a little bit to drink typically aren't good drivers to begin with. Alcohol impairs your ability, it doesn't remove your ability completely. If your ability is already lacking, obviously it will affect your driving more. |

alcohol is not a factor that should be added while driving.
90% of people are bad drivers to begin with.
90& of people dont have the reaction time necessary to avoid a car crash sober,
imagine them trying to avoid a crash while having drinks.
if you think you can have drinks and drive, then GO PASS THE DRIVING TEST AFTER HAVING SOME DRINKS. |

Just an hour ago, I go out and get something to eat. On my way back, some moron driving in the middle of the road. It had to be a senior, no damn idiot in their right mind would drive a boat. Had to honk at them to get out of the way.
I honestly have no idea, how people can be so dumb. You know the street is a two-way. Who cares if it is covered with snow, you should know where the damn centre line is! |

Operating a car isn't the problem here though; reaction time is. Alcohol slows that down, just like being tired does.
But aside from that, one thing alcohol is very good at is making people feel confident, and - most likely - as a result, drive faster and take more chances.
Also, it's worth noting that the roads you muricans drive on are probably wider, more open and more narrow, than most of the roads in, say, Europe. |
