Not voting this time around. It's a waste of time. Politicians are all just actors. Ultimately they're all more or less on the same side, and it isn't our side.

If it were based on public opinion, I don't think most people would expect Obama to make it to a 2nd term. My guess though, is that the multi-billion dollar corporations he helped bail out, will contribute whatever they must to ensure that he's re-elected. All it takes is a little extra pull with the media, and you've got yourself a new president.

I don't own a television, and probably won't follow the election much online. It's all a sham. It's a shame; I used to pride myself on keeping up with these kinds of things.

Agree with everything you wrote. [I don't own a TV either.]

I used to be really involved in politics when I was younger. I was president of my HS debate club/team and an active member of my town's Young Republicans organization, working during local elections and such.

So incredibly disillusioned now. The highest compliment I can imagine giving to a politician now is "he seems like a real person." Ron Paul, at times, strikes me as a real person - he's been mostly unwavering in his beliefs (a whole lifetime's worth).

A third party candidate I always admired was Ralph Nader. Got one of his books at a conference he spoke at and he signed it for me: "To Matt. For Freedom! - Ralph Nader" So cool hahaha

Never said I agree with much of what he says or stands for but I respect the man as a politician because he comes off as a real person to me. (Even if he's a real ing crazy person)
