Andy Blueman is like well say if Badelt did trance. I mean if it was music for mothers having babies wanting to hear like whale sounds and , i mean that is spot on but man, i don't see how anyone could hear that and not laugh. I mean it is worse than dj passion. |
I listened to the music you posted a while back. It was pretty cool.
When I first heard Sea Tides, I absolutely loved it. It has topped my playlist for months. Different strokes and all that. |

Sounds choice aside, the blue man track is very well composed. Alot of complementing elements.
Where as Kysora isn't.
Not being a but if you cant see this and you tell him otherwise, your just giving him delusions to keep him doing what his doing. The only thing that will result is a bitter musican with a forum behind him who says his work is great. |
You're missing some previous context here. I've spoken with him, at length, concerning my thoughts on his (Kysora's) strengths and weaknesses. Blueman is naturally going to shine a lot brighter. We're not blowing smoke up his ass with the comparison nor is "Clouds" the only track of Kysora's I'm thinking of in considering it. |

They did indeed! However 'le Gay' forever etched Blueman into the history of the genre ;)
Normie - so straight you can navigate by me. |

I agree with you, julz, I don't think I blended the elements together all that well, especially after the break. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, but I'd be wasting my time if I didn't try to push myself. It was an honest attempt, I don't think it sounds horrible and I did all I could with it, but yeah it's not as cohesive as what Blueman does. I'm trying to work on that.
I mean, just listen to that first song he posted there, then Perihelion. That's 2 years of improvement. I mean neither are all that great but come on, I'm at least getting somewhere, don't try to bull me into thinking any modicum of positive feedback is going to somehow blindside me into complacency to the point where I stop improving.
let's move on or something |

I like music like Bluemans' (Blew men?) in a similar way some people like ecstasy. I'm not an emotional person but the brain is wired to have a grand 'high' sense when it is plugged into an over the top Andy Blueman type song and a lot of Trance music in general.
I accept this kind of like a cheap thrill and give into. I like how it makes me feel but am fully aware that it is just that, a cheap thrill.
More serious 'music' is obviously Mozart, Sinatra, idk Pink Floyd.
What is serious music though? Isn't even The Funeral March or Adagio For Strings actually more structurally similar to Andy Bluemen than Elvis or The Rolling Stones? |

Lol, you go from POTC to Starship Troopers 6.
Note to self: Do not get caught trying to screw your agent/manager.
Actually what is happening on TA recenty?
Where's the PLUR, Rainbows and Unincorns? I've had a couple of people have a dig at me recently (over technical advice of all things), and granted L4C has the subtlety of a rusty sledgehammer, but people seem mighty on edge and rather testy at the moment.
@darek - I think what he's trying to convey in a rather un-sugar coated way is that people with ground breaking ideas, generally just go out and make them happen, without looking for input, personal support or assurance in public forums, running open polls and trying to get a movement (or whatever it is you're alluding to) going.
If you have this idea, then sure, do a bit of research on here (again it's nothing you couldn't do from a few people via PM) with trusted people, then go off and do it. There's at least two other people planning a similar thing but they are not looking for approval or support, they are just quietly working away at making it happen, and I think that is what you should do if you believe you have something worthwhile.
I personally don't like itunes so I'm going to disagree with L4C. I don't like the DRM, and I don't like the idea of apple completely dominating all genres of music.
It's not like you have to reinvent the wheel. I mean, , beatport makes a sod load of money and frankly I find their site and model has major flaws. Someone could do a better "niche" site and grow it from there.
For instance my business is in a field that is saturated and when we researched it the initial signs weren't good; too many competitors and not space left in the market. So we went to all our competitors and every single one of them had a (if not several) major flaw(s).
Two years later, we're doing well and taking the market share from long established "famous names" in the industry.
Now don't get me wrong, I do agree with L4C on one thing: you'd better have $100,000 ready to lose or an investor with seriously deep pockets if you really want to challenge the current online music outlets.
But it can be done. |

I think of it like this. I'm a Steve Vai fanatic. I think he was put on earth to hold the fort until Christ comes back. It is as dense and technical as music can get.
But it's anything but 'easy' to listen to. When I'm in the mood for 'challengening listening' it's Vai by a mile.
But Vai or for many people Bach DeBussey et all are like owning a Ferrari. You take it out once in a while and rev the piss out of it and impress your buddies with your rich-man taste and sophistication, but living with one on a day to day basis isn't that great. Sometimes you want to hop into the F-150 and go haul ass down a dirt road.
Blueman gives me a little of each. Some 'classical' kinda sounds and a lot of plain fun. |

To put it in a double negative: I don't disagree with that. |

Yeah, I hear you man, I know that is not going to be easy task, a specially with big sharks (like itunes, beatport, ...) when they will find out that something is going around and slowly taking same very small but still financial bits from their profit lol.
After initial analysis (very quick and rough) it is going to be bumpy ride with a lot of logistic elements/issues which need to be resolve, like international payment, release contracts, end on .... .
As far as discussions over here, yeah, people kind of dragging this info out of me and this is nothing wrong with that at all except I couldn't give the any specific info at this time (as this is being resolve/consider or in process at the particular moment).
Finally, at this particular stage and even when will be up and running, I don't think this concept will cost that much money you guys mention at all but later, we will see, we will grow with business and when right time will come, we may need some financial assistance lol (this is really future we are talking about lol)
Cheers DJRANN,
