Audio Kontrol 1. Hopefully a focusrite saffire upgrade to come.
The DAW you use shouldn't really matter given your audio interface. Really, you are just looking at the Digital Analog Converters, the inputs/outputs, and the accessibility of the controls. |

i use komplete audio 6, and i cant compare it to anything because its my first audio card, but it sounds good. One of the better usb cards from what i have read,it also looks sexy, and its made of steal. i think it was originally meant to be a dj card, but works good for me. Not sure if my daw holds any relevance but i use Fl. and have had no issues with it. |

Edirol m80... but mostly to jam. The knobs are great for live , though. Excellent keys. oops. misread. this isn't an audio interface. |

MOTU 828mkII. Had it for many years now and I use an SSL XLogic Alpha Channel and Drawmer DL241 as a front end for vocals/instruments. But, I'm considering replacing the whole shebang with the new UAD Apollo (Duo version).

hot of the press, just replaced my Ferrofish A16 with a RME AIO HDSPe with alle expansion boards, this one can be stacked with my HDSPe MADI so windows and all apps see them as 1 device, managed by 1 mixer
I've quite downsized my studio the other week, less rackspace, all VA outboard sold, Lexicon PCM91 sold, SPL Tube vitalizer sold, distressors sold....... XPA-2 amp sold... |

Fireface 400. Really happy with it. For me, the progression went like this:
Audiophile 2496 --> Focusrite Saffire --> RME Fireface 400 |

Echo Audiofire 4 - Has all the I/O I need, less than 10ms latency without getting ty and sounds nice & clear. Snagged it for $200 on ebay virtually unused.
@Dave - Apollo looks really, really nice, especially as it's one of the first to incorporate thunderbolt. The only thing I think they screwed up on is only giving one set of monitor outs. Major oversight and the line outs don't have the software monitor control abilities (like calibrations etc). It's nice that they include the UAD plugins but I prefer to have my hardware and software completely separate (i.e. not loose the plugins if I decide to switch to another computer or buy a different soundcard eventually etc). |
