Electric Zoo 2012 August 31, September 1 & September 2
The world-renowned Tiësto will be returning to Electric Zoo Festival again in 2012, with the headliner spot on Sunday, September 2nd.
Tiesto recently told MTV News: "It is an awesome festival in one of the most incredible settings in the world. How often do you get to play with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop? It is a special experience, being in the middle of a city with such a huge, energetic crowd. If you'd told me this would be possible 10 years ago, I wouldn't have believed you."
His closing peformance the first day of Electric Zoo 2011 was an epic occasion, see the footage by watching In The Booth - Episode 8, Tiësto's all-access YouTube series (footage starts at 6:13). Said Tiësto after his set, “Electric Zoo was sick! The crowd was unbelievable and brought an incredible energy to the city.”

There is plenty to promise that 2012's performance will be even better. Tiësto recently released the track “We Own The Night” with Wolfgang Gartner, an internationally renowned DJ/producer in his own right, who will be also playing at Electric Zoo this year (on Saturday, September 1st). Says Tiësto of his collaborator, “I've been a huge fan of Wolfgang for years. As a producer, there are few out there with the kind of talent he has, so teaming up was always something I was very keen to make happen."

Following on the heels of “We Own The Night” is Tiësto’s new CLUB LIFE – Volume Two Miami mix album, released on his own Musical Freedom imprint and available now. Tiësto's personal productions and remixes are a driving force behind this mix. In addition to "We Own The Night" he is also behind the original productions "Chasing Summers" and "Make Some Noise," created with the Russian trio Swanky Tunes. Remixes included are of Coldplay’s "Paradise," Gotye’s international chart topper "Somebody That I Used To Know," The Naked & Famous' indie anthem "Young Blood," which was remixed alongside the Dutch star Hardwell, and Afrojack's latest hit "Can't Stop Me Now."
The Electric Zoo Festival and Tiësto are also happy to announce a special Electric Zoo Meet & Greet Contest. Two lucky fans, plus two of their friends, will get to meet the superstar DJ before his set. Details of the Meet & Greet Contest will be posted on the Electric Zoo Facebook Page closer to the event, so be sure to check back for updates.

Also, when are we going to start seeing psytrance at our EDM festivals, seems like they're lagging on it. Would be nice to see Christopher Lawrence, J00F, Indecent Noise etc. |

Am I the only one who thinks it just won't be the same without Armin? I realize there are a handful of great artists already confirmed (i.e. A&B, W&W, Orjan Nilsen and Mat Zo) but IMO Armin's closing sets at the previous 3 EZoo's made it an event to remember. I know he's not everyone's favorite DJ, but he generates an incredible amount of crowd energy and "made" the "event".
Those who have said there may be an exclusivity contract preventing any of the EDCNY performers to appear at EZoo 2012 may be onto something. Up until now, there is zero overlap between the two events. Apart from Armin, we're also going to miss Gareth, Markus and others. It's also worth noting that the big house DJs like Avicii, Afrojack and the SHM people all appeared at EDCNY, but won't be at EZoo. It would have been great to see Arty on the lineup, but I doubt anyone was holding their breath for that... |

it'd be way too much of a coincidence that not one EDCNY artist is on the EZ line up.
my guess would be that insomniac threw some cash at made to hold out on the EDCNY names until after the festival (so people who were already going to see them at eZoo would still buy tickets to EDC). not sure if that sounds farfetched, but it makes sense to me.
which means ideally, there will be a phase 3 line up for eZoo with EDC names. and by that, i just mean carl cox, richie hawtin and armin :) |

#1- it will be good if not better without armin, if you check his set lists, he just plays a typical producer set and his mash-ups these days...i only enjoyed his set in 09 he was still playing actual trance back then (garry heaney-citation )
#2- of all the dj's in the world e-zoo could book you wanna hear arty? guy is probly the most overrated guy out there and hes another one who played the exact same set all of his asot 550 sets the past month and still whores out all his wack ass productions set after set
gimme carl cox b2b with hawtin closeing out main stage
or if you really wanna hear some real trance made should book guys like manuel le saux, bryan kearney, aly & fila, airwave, solarstone |
