redbull? LOL, dinner at Lio was like over 150EU each and I probably dropped the same amount at B.For during dinner between Ushuaia and Pacha. Everything just reaks money in Ibiza. I think lunch for 6 peeps at the Ibiza Gran Hotel, just a round of burgers, was over 200EU for the table lol.
As much as I don't want to spend that money, I am kicking myself for missing the Kehakuma sake bar sets, i bet they will be epic! |

You can be KIND of cheap in Ibiza. Your worst offenders are club covers, tourist restaurants (Cafe Del Mar area for instance) and TAXIS.
We stayed in Santa Eularia. Restaurants were cheap, bottles of wine were basically free. I mean a whole menu of €10 Italian and Spanish wines. Our hotel had beers for 2 or 3 € by the pool. Their "ham sandwhich", which was also a maybe 5 euro was actually fine prosciutto and provolone. Our 420 friends found a guy in the local English Pub and got a weeks worth for €50 or 3 people. One of them was a boat captain and chartered us a boat to go around the north end of the Island for real cheap too. We made friends with some locals and got comp @ DC10 and some drink tickets. Networking goes a long way there, especially since we weren't in a big tourist spot. Just plan ahead for the bus schedules, cabs are major expensive there. Also, someone told me a bag of moon rocks is about the same price as a redbull and vodka, I'm not sure what that means though :conf: For club covers, you can plan ahead and get them on the island at the local shops and sometimes save up to 50%. Also, there's a topless beach (or maybe they all are) NE of Santa Eularia, on the edge, that has a restaurants. It's very locals, sparkling bottle service on the beach was like €40 or something dumb like that. Our one friend who wanted to show off ordered 3.
Want to go back, next time doing a Villa though. If you get enough people it's cost effective, especially if you have some contacts. They generally like Americans, they don't see a lot of them. It's the British youth they can't stand, maybe the French too, but who doesn't. |

Best things I took away from Ibiza, aioli with everything, drinking hierbas shots at all times of the day before meals after meals during meals at the club entrance when we exited club paying for vip hierbas everywhere!, and this very special place called cuarenta
One thing I did notice in barcelona and alil in ibiza, if you can't get by with alil spanish they definitely have a bleeker outlook in helping you a long. I couldn't pay to find myself a catalan chick i tried very hard but my spanish wasn't cutting it for them. |

Airfare is around 1200, that's what we paid last year as well so this is a pretty decent baseline. The euro is crap now compared to when we went, which was the peak, so that helps.
You figure 80euro for Pacha, 60 euro for amnesia and Sankeys ls like 20 or 30, I don't remember because we got comp there too :p . So maybe $1k in spending or $1500 if you're a little loose. Room I don't know, we used a timeshare trade in. Maybe you can split a villa for $600 each? I'm guessing. It's going to run you close to $2500 to 3k I bet, it's not a cheap trip. |

Yep, this is true, with Ibiza and any expensive place pretty much. This is my 2nd time in Ibiza & although me & my bud didn't spend a lot on food on that first trip we spent a lot of money just on cabs getting around. I don't care for cuisine much when I'm traveling, I'm comfortable buying some fast food just to not be hungry as I go about my business. So dropping lots of dollars at pricey restaurants & sitting around there for hours is something I avoid.
This time around I planned it different..my transportation is covered so I don't need cabs & I'm also staying in Ibiza town in a hotel close to buses that take you around to San Antonio and other places. I'm also not spending much on clubs each night on this trip, I'm doing other things like the Zoo Project, Bora Bora beach club, San Antonio strip, Formentera, boat cruise etc. I've already been to Privilege, Amnesia etc. Now I'm more interested in Space and a new spot called Ushuaia. Will def be a better trip than the last one. And I'm already planning to go back, hehe :) |

When I went last September for the closing parties.
Airfair - $1200
Villa - split between 7 of us like $350/each
Parties:
Thursday - Cream closing party w/ Paul van Dyk - $40 Eur
Friday - Pacha - Sasha and Pete Tong $35 Eur
Sunday - Space - WE Love closing party $65 Eur
We spent a good chunk of $ on our own private van service so none of us had to drive and it was like $6 or $7 Eur per person or so each time we got picked up.
I think the entire trip set my gf and I back like almost $6000 when everything was factored in for the entire trip. We lost a day with flights each way as we left on a Friday and didnt arrive to Ibiza until the following morning. Upon return we left Ibiza on a Monday night and didnt get home until the following night as we stayed a night in Madrid to hang out. 11 awesome days that trip was! Drinks were like $9 EUR for water and IIRC like $11 EUR for beer in the club. Food was very inexpensive and there were places that we frequented in Ibiza town and San Antonio that hooked us up. Remember drinking a lot San Miguel, and Cruzcampo beer as it was very cheap.

I'm wondering if anyone could explain or expand on the rumor of Insomniac's exclusivity contracts and the possibility it's the cause in the lack of talent pool for this year's EZOO?
How long would you think an exclusivity contract could last? I also imagine there are geographical stipulations (EDCNY was in NJ)? Do we think Insomniac is muscling in the tri-state area? |
