Dj Ryan actually contacted me via pm about ghost writing a Swedish house mafia track for him.
meriter
And you didn't? If someone offered me money for any kind of studio work I'd do it in a heartbeat
MSZ
I made every track he posted in the music producers promo section.

hahahah no way. I mean i sort of believe it but then again i just don't think he has a job.
But seriouslty, listen to his latest tracks. Glen Morrisson. I mean i'm just talking about the mixing. They are horrendous. There is no ing way he is getting by with his actual work. Most people here mix better than he does.
Looney4Clooney
are you kidding ?
HIs latest. The mix is just brutal. I'm sure everyone can ing agree on that.I mean it is not even close to being mixed properly. But of course he has time for a mastering service.
what the
trancelover203553 you just posted that he was your favourite producer. Listen to that and tell me that with a straight face. He is still riding of the ing tracks deadmau5 made for him. They started his career and he hasn't done anything good since. He is awful. I mean even 7 years later, this is where he is at ? Can't even mix a ing track and there he is pretending he is a mastering engineer.
Here is a universal truth. When producers start to become mastering engineers not by demand but by desperation, all is not so ing swell.

To be honest I havent listened to glenn morrison's original productions since those deadmau5 collabs a long time ago, well he gets some nice artists to remix his tracks. Robert babicz made one recently and its pretty nice; his mixes can be quite magical at times, the saturation is wicked.
Im just taking a look at glenn's soundcloud right now, and Im not going to judge his productions; hell im not very good myself, but I can definitely say I really dont like them.
Edit* ^ that above one, I've heard amateurs in the music promotion forum do as equal job as that. No offense ofcourse, just what my opinion is. He has access to amazing engineers I believe, so Im a bit confused now.
Looney4Clooney
you are better than him. And i ing hate you. But i would you so good.
But that is essentially what he does. ty releases with good remixes. Once your name has a certain buzz, you can suck as long as you have someone to ride with. People are stupid, they see glen morrisson, it doesn't matter who remixed it.
It annoys me that people like him have the gall to put deadmau5 down. Joel has a ing canon of well produced tracks. He has enough hits to make up for those that are so so.

Few days ago I was hanging out with a crew of all str8 friends of mine. We were joking around about any and all topics when a pair of super-fem guys showed up. We made some jokes about them (actually I started it off) when one of them overheard us and walked up to me and started going off about how we're a bunch of Aholes and homophobic blah blah blah. My friends were ready for me to tear him a new one since they all know I'm gay (I'm extremely masculine and never believed when i tell people I'm gay, plus not to fond of the super fem types) but something the guy said really struck a cord with me. So instead of verbally slapping him, I just apologized and we left. Now I've been thinking a lot! I am gay but I have 0 gay friends but all str8 friends and when I do meet other gay guys they often feel really uncomfortable around me like I'm going to beat them up or something. I really don't mean to come off that way, even guys I date sometimes ask if I'm really gay or just acting gay to take them to dark alley and beat them up.
So! anyone else out there with a similar issue? Or, what should I do to "act gay" more or be more gay friendly?"
Any and all advise welcomed.
p.s I'm in my early 20s and this has been going on since like high school days. Not sure how I should "change".
Looney4Clooney
no wonder you hate me
i have yet to meet a gay that didn't want to enter me. And when they find out that this handsome stylish not prissy gay but manly not too manly guy is straight, it makes them mad.
Acting gay is like acting straight. Both are pretty ing queer. Freddie Mercury was ing gay and he could impregnate every single virgin female in the front row with his rock and roll.
Be yourself. Where you stick your penis doesn't define who you are. To me, you aren't gay, you just have really bad ing taste in crevices.
When i lived in calgary, every one thought i was gay. But in calgary, wearing white shoes makes you gay. But i was a veracious man whore and i was a silent runner. Every restaurant i worked at, within 5 months, i had maritals with every hostess.
I mean i would totally make fun of any sort of gay tick you might have but if there was like a brodown and someone had an issue with your gay, i would throw down on the side of justice. UNless you were being a silly stupid bitch.

Last night I listened to Contact several times and so it is very ironic I should come upon this discussion the next day. I even looked at the discogs entry and saw the credits for Joel last night (I looked at it 3 months ago when this thread first started as well). I don't think I have ever really payed attention to Contact before. But what a track. I understand there is controversy over the authorship, but if it was a collaboration, then some of the credit is due to Glenn.
When I said new favorite producer (and the post you refer to is 3 months old now), I meant that in terms of at the moment who is currently making music I like that I did not know much about before. Honestly, if you want to talk 'favorite' producer there are all sorts of different criteria. The one who probably does the most fantastic in all the categories (mixing, complexity, catchyness, consistency) overall that I know of is Henry Saiz. Others include Pryda, Charlie May (Works with Sasha), Arty and others.
As far as Glenn goes, I was surfing around looking for good tracks and found 'Triangles and Strings', 'Symptoms of a Stranger', his remix of Musetta, 'Contact', ect. He has a lot of good songs. I really like progressive structured music (like what John Digweed used to play) but have no problem with artists bringing it into the present and blending it with other genres. Here are just a few. As for the one you showed, Idk.
