I saw that. I meant to join in but all I want is an answer to my question really: Wasn't this motivated by North Carolina's latest amendment to their laws?

No, Obama finally came out and said he was for gay marriage because his donors were threatening to cut funding since he wasn't taking a clear stance in favor of it.

You're asking a very literal question of motivation, and political motivation, at that. I don't think it's unfair to assume that North Carolina's recent amendment might have spurred questions that resulted in Obama's comments, but he has not said "I am saying this in response to the recent amendment in North Carolina".

Ah man, i miss having Kev around here, i disagree with him on just about every issue regarding politics but i kind of liked debating with him, even if i knew that at the end neither of us would change our opinion :D Maybe i should add him on fb just to annoy him again, clearly hes comfortable with hippies if he has Lira on, so he shoudnt be all that mad at me :D

I find it hard to believe this is the main reason because there was too much going on: From Biden publicly supporting gay marriage to this bizarre move from North Carolina.

As Hal said, Obama didn't say these events motivated his more vocal stance on the issue, but saying it's because of the election could swing both ways (had he not said anything, it would be because he was worried about the elections). Sure, there may have been some political pressure but I find it very unlikely that it was the sole force behind this.

donors, the one's that matter don't do it for social change. It is financially motivated. Go thru the list and tell me they have gay marriage on their list of things that matter.

Are gays really allowed to vote in this country? Disgusting.

EDM is probably the gayest music being made of all time. how do you square that with your repressed inner gay and resulting hatred for them. You are listening to their music.
