well that is the issue isn't it. New tracks that sound like the old ones which begs the question why even bother. He is a museum of a very narrow genre of music. And i actually do music for a living, had releases before you were a tween. You are out of your league. |

that is fine, but it is sort of ing retarded to keep remaking the same tracks no better no different. What is the point. I understand the idea of being a museum, but when you start to do this , you fall in line with say that guy that is 40 that still wears a slayer shirt and only listens to metal. That makes you a librarian, not an artist. And that is what mark farina is. A librarian of a very specific type of house. I mean if he just played old tracks, fair enough. but he plays new tracks that are worse than the old ones trying to be the old ones which just doesn't make sense. Just play the classic ones that defined the genre because all the rest just sounds ing retarded and anachronistic.
I personally don't see the point in repetition. I think you would find it silly if there was a genre called Beatles where people just sounded like the beatles. Well this type of house is so ing narrow in scope that the analogy is kinda apt. It falls in line with ty cover bands at ty weddings and has about as much value. |

| me neither. I mean he does it because he has to. Considering his talent, he has a pretty sweet gig. I mean he is riding of the name of a few compilations he made in 1995. I don't respect him tho. But if i had to chose between this guy or those idiots that make that ty house that sounds like UK hardhouse with all those annoying high pitched sounds ala SHM, i would probably just go to Farina because he plays lounge music that is easy to ignore. |
