That's the reason why I found 2004 to be a boring year. Because of Mcprog. Everyone and their grandmothers guinea pig was spinning The world doesn't know and whiteroom. There's even a fag on discogs who writes this: "To me, this track is the greatest hybrid of the stellar ambience of psytrance and the build-up/breakdown structure of progressive to date."

Honestly, McProg gets a ton of flack (even if I wasn't that into "The World Doesn't Know") but it was far better than the mnml that became in vogue afterwards. 2006-07 was the worst period of EDM for me since I started listening to it, seems like everyone was trying to outdo each other by making the most boring tracks ever.

I also recall the offbeat snare catching flack. It probably wasn't popular like McProg, but it was a known trend. Intruder is an example, but I still think it's a tight track.

As and boring as that 2006-2007 period was, it was certainly fun times on TA with the war between the mnml/tech house elitists and everybody else. I miss those days.
