2004 was a great year for trance and EDM. It's not as good as 2003 which was the best trance year imo but loads of unique tracks came out of it like the already mentioned:
Tranquility Base - Surrender
Alt + F4 - Alt + F4
White Room - White Room

The track that always comes to mind when I think of 04 is Super 8 - Alba for some reason.

It also gave us a lot of remakes of older tracks and it was the return of Matt Darey who had a great run of productions that year

Trance also turned a little rougher that year with the influence of MIKE, Fred Baker, Mark Norman on the tracks, especially in the second half of the year

The McProg sound was fantastic and people didn't appreciate it at the time because it was different but now it is legendary compared to the crap these days.
Rico Soarez, Elevation, Mark Otten, Probspot, Audioholics, Synergy, Interstate, Perry O'Neil :tongue2

2004 is also bittersweet because it is clearly the last great year of trance and ended the golden era of 97-04.

Definitely.

I was bored and found out that all the MD posts from 2004 are roughly from pages 833 to 1171.

Hated that track when it came out. Funny thing is that Arty remix released last year was better than original i thought.

Don't think this one got a mention yet. Truly a monster of a tune. I had never heard anything quite like it at the time.

I hated that remix by Arty he's over-rated as a producer
