i remember complaining about the "mcprog" at the time, but i don't really mind it as much now a days. i think there's some decent music from the time to be found. it was just really hard at the time because markus schulz was cramming it down everyone's throats.
2004 was a great year for summery sounding tracks. music for enjoying outside with friends.

This is still my all time favorite trance track. I was a big Armin whore in 2004...finally getting to see him live, and when he dropped this track it blew my mind. felt like it never ended....just kept going and going...just an epic experience in a club.

The "mcprog" wars were quite a scene on the boards back around this time. Personally I was a fan of that genre and the melodic stuff. But looking at the scene today, I think many here would rather take that then much of the crap coming out today.

this thread is depressing. even in 2004 progressive trance had been in a downward spiral for a couple of years - and yet some of this stuff sounds downright cutting edge/underground compared to the poo that passes for progressive trance to the masses these days.

I remember seeing Armin for the first time in 2004 at 1015 in SF. I went nuts when he dropped Solid Globe-Sahara. That was my at the time. :toothless
