...I've had the thread stuck for months but interest has been non impressive.
Just curious as to why that is as it is even free to 'lend' your first $25!
Educate me c0r! |

| Why would I want to give my money to someone I don't even know? |

| Some of us in the c0r are also in need. I'd donate if I wasn't in need of donations, myself atm. :sadgreen: |

Did you even take the time to see what it's about? You don't give it away... you get paid back. lol |

To help them out. I'd do it without giving it a third thought, the second thought being about what they want it for.
I'm really looking forward to doing it, but I'm myself a bit short on money these days :( |

Nope I didn't take the time to read it at all, I was just sharing my input for no reason whatsoever. lol
My point is you have no guarantee that the person you're giving money to WILL pay you back, so there's really no incentive to "loan" them that money, imo.
Plus the whole idea of not having a clue what the recipient is using money for. I'd see Kiva as a great resource for getting front money for drug dealing. |

This is all explained to you before you loan... but I digress |

| Explaining it doesn't make it any less stupid. |

I think the incentive is to help in a way that is of minimal cost to yourself. But i agree, it seems like a minefield of potential scam artists. They claim a 98 % rate. Hopefully they have some means to deal with the eventual problems that are guaranteed to happen. And also, as russell mentioned, i think it is extremely important to know what your money is being used for. Finding out that your money is being used by a religious organisation to rent the soccer field for sunday stoning would not sit well with me. You know how dangerous a slide tackle is when there are rock on the grass? |
