At least in Toronto I've been to parties with Israelis and Iranians having a good time together.
Hmm, what's thE common denominator?

They dont have to go after Iran alone they have US OF A right behind them.
And you really think that American public will support a war against Iran? After what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Check opinion polls. Consider the consequences.

you honestly think the Neocons care about what the American people actually want/think? Americans people for the most part didn't want to go to Iraq either but look what happened.

Now things are beginning to make sense as to why our crime minister decided to pull out their staff from Iran due to a "major threat".. They are well aware that Israel is going to bomb the out of Iran.
exraver
US ambassador to Libya is dead and they are gonna bomb Iran.
Ahh, american logic, just like 11 years ago.

I never understood this move by Canada . Why not leave the door to diplomacy open ? Just because you have an embassy doesn't mean you support or oppose that particular government .
I don't see how people compare Shahs regime to this brutal dictatorship !! Shah never had public hangings of homosexuals and he gave women their equal share .
What the Shah and his father created these mullahs have destroyed in their 33 years ....all in the name of islam !!
Canada is supposed to be a world leader in diplomacy and peacekeeping, but these actions are unjust .
Does anyone else find it ironic that Canada announced this move when TIFF was releasing Argo LOL ?? The movie is about the Iranian Revolution and how a few Americans escaped to the Canadian embassy in Tehran .

I think many Iranians are on the same page as you including myself and we just cant understand why Canada has deiced to shut all diplomatic doors to Iran...
Wurm
Maintaining diplomatic relations =\= supporting a repressive regime.
Severing diplomatic relations = ending all possible dialogue with insiders and outsiders there.

Nonsense. Israel is a tiny nation of 5 million people, while Iran is a very spacious gigantic country of over 70 million. Or something like that, but thats not the point. Israel cannot destroy Iran (albeit using nuclear weapons), they lack the arsenal, logistics, support and money to do so. There's absolutely no point in destroying Iran. They have no intention of destroying any nation in the region - Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria have not been wiped off the map, man! ... well, apart from the Palestinian statehood (but that's another topic)

Bush is long gone, if thats what you're referring to. Please don't tell me that you think Neocons are still running the country. Obama is much more rational, and Iran is not Saddam's Iraq or Taliban's Afghanistan. Iran has ballistic missiles, organized military, huge weapons stockpiles and plenty of loyal citizens. And its much bigger in size, has plenty of rough terrain, and even has a navy (BONUS!).

I highly doubt that Israel is going to launch a direct attack on Iran. Iran will hit back hard.

Say whaaaaaaaaaaat?
Iran does not border Israel. 6-Day-War involved Israel's neighbours. I don't think that Israel is going to send troops across Syria/Iraq to land in Iran for ground operations. Iran has very rugged terrain and tough resistance. Recall how Saddam's well armed troops got beaten by a weaker internationally isolated under-armed Iranian side in the 80's?
Also, that was in 1967. Things have changed a lot since 1967 in the region. Iran, for one, is a lot stronger than before.
