They weren't bad at all! All the pieces were good, I just didn't think they came together like people proclaimed them to- naturally, it's my own fault for believing the hype, but I had a slight disappointment and boredom with both the series and the film. I didn't watch every episode though, so who knows what I am still missing...

Actually, it took me about 4 or 5 episodes of Firefly to really start getting into the characters, which is kind of a bummer for a show that lasted for such a short time. Re-watching it though, I already understood the characters and their somewhat odd motivations for those early episodes, so I enjoyed it a lot more than the first time.

It still s me off bigtime that it wasn't given a proper chance to grow both the characters and the story. Serenity was cool, but a movie is a pretty different format than a series that can really flesh out a good story/arc.

but i could never get into the godfather

tried watching it multiple times and have never gotten through it

Same thing here. I tried watching the first Godfather at least 5 times now. I just completely lose interest after getting to about the 50 minute mark.

Another one is "I'm Legend". It's the only movie where I left the theater in the middle of a movie. Tried watching it again after it came out on DVD and turned it off after about 30 minutes.

Anticipation kills entertainment

  • Akira;
  • Ghost in the Shell;
  • Anything by Hayao Miyazaki;
  • Star Wars, Star Trek, and apparently anything with "star" in it;
  • The Godfather;
  • Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and the Harry Potter Saga - all which I believe are part of the same story;
  • Anything with Batman in it.
Long story short, unless the plot reeks of drama, the Earth (or a sizable bit) is destroyed, or the film is really angsty and/or pretentiously complicated, I can't really get into it :(

I too must say The Godfather. The Ghost In The Shell is what sparked The Matrix saga, Lira. Although the first one was the best.

Seems The Godfather is being mentioned across the board. Must say the same for me.

As hard as I try, I can never get into it. I don't know the reason why

I can appreciate its importance, but I still find it unbearably tedious to watch :(

Your life is better for it.

Terrible, terrible movie.
