I remember Napoleon Dynamite and Elf got huge hype as being so funny, but I thought they were the dumbest movies I'd ever seen. American Pie was even more nauseatingly stupid.
I severely dislike all those dumb teenage American-humor films. Ugh.
I'm also not the least bit fond of any Horror movies, especially if they're just a gore-fest with little story line.
I don't even remember the Godfather, that should tell you something. |
The Ring you have to admit was ed up. The Grudge was alright, but the first time I saw Signs...that one freaked me out. Kinda seemed more realistic than most. |

Only saw The Ring (HATED IT). I haven't seen the others. I really can't do Horror films anymore, haunts me for WEEKS! Especially if it's gore, I really do not, cannot, will not, ever, understand the allure. |

Drive. Not a bad film, it just seemed utterly devoid of content to me. |
In this case, the style of the film is its content. |

It really was. My fiancée's summary was "long meaningful gazes interrupted by gory action." Which is pretty much right on.
But I still like it.

When did you get engaged? Did I just never know this? |

| Long time ago. I mostly stopped broadcasting my personal life on the Internet. It may be the first time I mentioned it here. |

I was going to say, it's not like I know anything about you :p
Congratulations, all the same :)
Drive was an interesting movie. I can definitely see how people dislike it, but I really enjoyed it all the same.
I keep watching horror movies in the hope that they will legitimately scare me. Never been scared, yet. A few years ago some friends and I watched a movie and it scared them tremendously, that night I had a dream, and I distinctively remember in the dream complaining about boring it all was and hoping I would die soon. /internettoughguy
I'm able to enjoy watching most movies, even if afterwards I look back critically on it and think it wasn't that good and I have no desire to see it again. That seems to be the case with most blockbuster films that people love - LOTR, everything from Nolan, etc. Occasionally, though, I just have to walk away. Transformers II was the last thing I walked out on, I believe, but I don't think ANYONE thought that was any good. |

It would've been so much better without the atrocious soundtrack. Still not good, by any standard, but a hell of a lot better. |

Yeah, that's the impression I got, but the style itself is that of vacuity. |
