all I hope is that it is stable and also 64 bit |
Stability is the thing they should be getting on top of.... All these new bells and whistles don't really enthuse me much, I'm not jumping to conclusions yet but the instability of live 8 is a big issue for me, so I'm gonna wait a while after its release before I make a decision on upgrading. |

Yes I agree, the stability is the reason I switched to Logic.
Over 2.8 gig of ram use or so Live tended to get really unstable.
Although the support Ableton provides is great and they really try get to the root of the problem unlike some companies who require a $80 fee to trouble shoot your problem. |

My guess is thats why 9 is taking so long to come out, they cant afford another unstable version
8 is so bad on my system, i expect at least 1 crash a day :-/ |

Regarding stability, I've been using 8.3 for a year now, so stable
using ableton own fx/instruments and heavy ass VSTs as well
I noticed its half and half regarding what users experience regarding live , of curse, if I go over the 3.8 GB I get the out of memory message , but I changed my method of work so I almost never reach that |

| really liking these new features. especially the wet/dry on the compressor. though, imo all FX plugins should have both a wet and dry knob. |

I'm not on a mac, but I'm running 8.3.3 with 8gigs of ram, and since this version I have had 0 crashes, and always seems stable to me. I do often wish I could try out Logic though.
I think what the video shows, looks really good, especially how they rebuilt eq8, I'm very interested, I just hope they have alot more features they are not showing us yet. |

that's a good idea! did you just split the output into two streams or include any other processing on it? |

| It looks really good! Hopefully they will bring lot's of nice new features into Ableton 9. I do really hope that they make support for dual screens though. Using Ableton on a 13" laptop is quite tiresome, so to be able to split the work area would be great! |
