A lot of good stuff.

Max for Live is included in suite 9, so its a pretty solid deal.

The only thing that would muffle my excitement would be if they didn't fix the automation delay. Considering there are automation curves now, it would be stupid not to. Hopefully, they've been spending this time building Ableton from the ground up so its much better now. Going from 7 to 8 was completely underwhelming...

Did I get this right. I currently own suite 8. So it's more expensive for me to upgrade to suite 9 than it's for those who currently own live 8?

Highly doubtful. You may wanna contact Ableton and ask them yourself. If you have Suite 8, I would think you should receive the same 159.99 upgrade price to upgrade to Suite 9.

Ooh clever.. :gsmile: I'm guessing it didn't work, seeing as you're referring it to as an experiment? :p
Luckily FL has had a dry/wet knob next to the FX slot, so I've gotten to play a lot around with this effect.
But the phasing is like semi-weird, right? It's not like how you can phase out the kick when you're dj'ing. With the parametric eq2 at least, at around the 50% mark it often sounds like an industrial sized stereo field compactor, which could be useful in many instances, but it seldom translates well in the mix when you collapse it to mono.
Oh well, guess I just have to keep stacking fx then :p

It should be less.

These are my current options:

or buy another license

Only bought suite 8 because the shop I bought it from didn't have live 8 in stock.

Perhaps the fact that it includes the $159.99 Max for Live is what makes it so expensive? It's a $159.99 upgrade for Live 8 to Live 9. You're basically paying this same upgrade fee + $139.99 for Max for Live...if you don't have it, that is. Although I will say it's pretty ridiculous that it costs me $299.99, only $50 more (sucks for Suite 8 users), to upgrade to Suite 8, receiving the Suite 9 upgrade free.

it's not easy being green :)

phasing stuff out completely only really happens with very clean waveforms, like the tail of a kick or a pure square

what's wrong here?

Upgrade to Live 9 Suite: 249 Euros
New license for Live 8 Suite (with free upgrade later): 412 Euros.

Upgrade saves you 163 Euros.

Upgrading from Live 8 Standard to Live 9 Suite costs 349 Euros, it all sounds pretty fair to me?

edit: haha I've got the option to upgrade to Suite 8 right now for 239 Euros, with a free upgrade to Live 9 Suite afterwards... Seriously considering this. On the other hand, the upgrade to Live 9 standard is only 129 Euros.

These are my prices. I might have to consider upgrading to Suite now and save $100. Hmmm

Push looks pretty sweet! But it's kinda pricey. Push + Live Suite = $997! OUCH!

9 looks so sexy... new software always gives me inspiration. Little things here and there.
