Get real. And be polite. Someone should have taught you manners. |

I really don't understand why anyone thinks Pacha is behind this. Why would Pacha give a about Dubfire being booked at some club in Queens? It's not their crowd and it's not someone they ever book. Tinfoil hats off (Seb, that is a finely crafted tinfoil hat, however lol).
Also, let's not forget System has been shut down once before. Since they are prior offenders.. maybe the cops decided to check up on them? That's not so crazy. Whether or not anyone tried to get the party shut down, there was certainly a basis for cops to roll through and see what's up. |

Pacha is already notorious for many things... nn house dealing, they've banned all external media (USTM/EDMNYC/etc) from bringing in their own camera equipment, etc. They don't even let guys wear hats inside at all anymore, you have to leave it on the stoop outside. They have a laundry list of bull a mile long.
In the end, it's all about business. Pacha IMO is the corporate bully on the playground and they will flex their muscles in any way they can to retain their strength. If they have two NYE shows and neither are sold out, they will not be happy campers.
Of course, this is just my .02 and nothing more.
Carry on all.

Correction: Dubfire is someone Pacha has booked in the past, a few times, as a matter of fact (before D36 opened up, if my memory serves me well).. having him booked elsewhere certainly has taken a huge chunk of their profit, I would say.

to the comment above about "stupid to advertise the 10am" closing:
why not, theres no law against it,IF the venue licenses cover it.
|
You ask, why not? Simple. Because it draws ATTENTION! What is everyone supposed to do for 6 hrs, SIX HOURS, where alcohol isn't supposed to be serve? I'm sure this give cops a reason to come and check the oxygen levels in the room  |

how about listening and dancing?
I dont mean to offend, but seriously, cant be enjoyed without a constant ply of booze?
one obvious solution would be to load up by an extra drink per hour for 4-5h bef . 4am (the liver clears about one per h.), that'll take it through 9 for sure.
true your baseline will be way higher at 3/4/5am...
I'm certainly not being objective here, last booze of any kind I had at a music event was prob in '99...
but the comment above makes it sound like the music cant be taken if one doesn't y have booze.
we can be pretty sure that the 24h + crowd @ berghain isn't doing it with booze
seriously, IMVSO, alc. is the drug for metal 'n stuff, because it turns off the part of the brain that makes that e hard to take and the pain threshold from hitting the floor hard in the m-pits is lowered too!
what people figured goes well here doesn't have a curfew, if one is into enhancement ...
anyway, it's not as though the cops shut this one bec. the serving license was being violated.
as a non-drinker (@ stuff like this) I actually resent the fact that my event is put at shut-down risk because the venue goes out to violate the license.
I'm sure you too would rather have late close w/o booze than an enforced shut down.
finally you as much as I have seen all the limos trolling outside t these things at close-up just like the drivers know so do the cops, advertised or not. last weeks 10-10 techno marathon advertised the close, no prob. |

Yeah, before d36 opened up was three years ago. Times have changed. Pacha is unaffected by a dubfire party in queens.. they make plenty of money off of neon kids and ty music. |

you clearly missed my point.. i was speaking about a cops perspective-they certainly don't think it's just listening and dancing, they see a hazard waiting to happen or just being d-bags bc they're bored (who knows). it would just draw their attention, a venue that is opened way after the normal club business hours.. idk, i just don't see the reason why it should be put out there.. to draw a mass? as if the high profile isn't suffice. you don't ever see other parties saying 11pm- 8/9/10am on their events, when they normally do.
i saw a red flag when i saw it advertised that it was closing at 10am. |
