Hate to say this but, I soo saw this coming from a mile away...closes at 10am, really? Whoever's idea that was to advertise that, had it coming.. you do NOT put out in public a time that is wayy past the legal closing hour (smh)!! At least Robag got to spin till 6:30 when it was suppoed to finish at 8 at that space..System is a hot spot.

Anyways, this is crazy.. idk what the scene has come to, so sad and ridiculous. There are so many things wrong with this picture (won't even begin to compare to be discreet) that it reeks disgusting.

But... But... That place is huge. I cannot believe that is the reason. Over capacity? The only place i have been in a crowded place was hawtin' night. Wtf. Sorry you all got screwd :(

You're not getting it. That's the bull excuse that was given. Obviously, this is all very fishy.

Technically though, they could have shut down the place for being at over capacity. The max. cap. number depends on the number of exits at the place. For every exit the place has, it increases the cap (I think it's about 75 ppl/exit or something like that). The place could be huge, but if there aren't enough exits, the legal maximum capacity will be low. Say this club has a max cap of 300 ppl (which is prob pushing it). If they go over that number, the police or fire marshall can shut it down. Obviously, many venues don't abide by that and they have to pay off the right ppl to get away with it.

I agree with everything Seb said, it's not the first time I hear something like this being Pacha's common practice. I'm not surprised at all, especially now with all these Queens clubs (System, Glazz) and promoters that are taking the B&T crowd away from Pacha.

I think it has something to do with the NYE parties coming up... now that the System one was announced, I am sure larger places *cough* Pacha *cough* are trying to steer people away from them to get them to go to the Pier. It is a load of horse crap

They have their papers hanging in coat check, and according to that, the capacity is 450 people.

I can't speak for how many people were there last night, but it was definitely less crowded than Digweed.

Can you give us an idea of what is going on so we can fight back? After all, we get screwed as well. Is it a Manhattan vs. Brooklyn thing? Is it an underground promoter war?

Maybe you can write an anonymous email to @nynightlife and have him blast it out. This is getting annoying. Nobody knows anymore if the party they are going to is gonna get shut down or not. ing sucks.

So, is it safe to say that Pacha's pulling the good ol' JP Morgan on the nightlife? Or just speculations? I could live with this theory..

I think NYE also is playing a big part on this. The Sander Van Doorn party at Pacha is not sold out, probably will never be. The Afrocrack party still has tickets, but tickets are so expensive the college crowd can't pay for that.

And the one type of music that Pacha is missing from their quest for total domination of the city night life are the techno parties. I really hope when Space New York opens up that these artists will have a place to call home and Pacha can slowly fade away.
