Ok dude, let's say some stuff.
1st, MDRV700 are HEADPHONES and not a CHAIR! They'll break only if you sit on them or make am bad use of them.The you said is your opinion and is totally wrong.Every headphone has a durability.And for God's sake, learn how to use headphones so that they won't break! :D |

i have v-500's im cheap:D but theyre good so thats all i care about.
also, how the do you people break headphones? you lay out all that cash and treat them like ? christ, i've has a pair of technics for like 10 years and although they sound like compaired to the new stuff they aint broke... treat your equipment with respect... it dosent just break, youve gotta do something to let it happen. |

Hahaha... I'm laughing at you, not gluegun. Just cause you spent that cash on a pair of ty headphones doesn't mean you gotta get all upset and flame someone that knows a lot more than you do.

first of all, the 500s are pretty sturdy and aren't gonna break on their own. But the 700's definately will... they are very cheap... the pads wear away, the hinges break, etc etc. THESE ARE DJ HEADPHONES... you know, clubs? raves? That's what they're made for, not to be hung up on your wall. |

SONY is the leader in audio and video technology, mostly for home use, but with the 700's, SONY is the leader in the proffessional section also...
As for that sponsorship , ye, it occurred to me...And I have to ask : Why not only Mauro, but ALMOST EVERYONE of the famous DJs have tested/owned a pair of 700's headphones? Is it still that "sponsorship" or they are sooo damn good that all of them wanted a piece? :haha: |

Hahahahahaha... please tell me this is some joke? Sony is not the leader in anything... except overpriced products. Their TV's look good, but that's about it.
Do yourself a favor... don't pretend you know anything about audio!
In the home department, sony does not lead anything. Pick up an audiophile magazine and see how many times the name sony is mentioned.
And in the professional market? Yeah right... no "professional" in thier right mind is going to produce a song with the 700's... they're muddy, plain and simple. They hype certain frequencies... and others aren't present at all. One of the few decent headphones you'll find is the 7506, which is based on the V6, which gluegun recommends. And I wonder how many sony "speakers" you'll find in any studio...
So don't come here and tell me about the professional market... you don't know what's going on. It's ok though, you are entitled to an opinion... even though its uninformed, based on no experience, and overall very ty.

shut up. Sony is now selling at high price. This is their market strategy.
In fact, you din't red the official Headphones thread at all... Djs are paid to use thoses headphones, and I'm pretty sure of something, but this is my opinion; the Sony ones Tiesto, AvB and others are using, they look like 700DJ headphones, but they are surely way better than the one you bought. In fact, a dj can't be this good with the crap sony is selling. I remember, in the Headphones thread, somebody was telling everyone that since 1 year or so, he was using v600 or 700 because Tiesto was using them, he was swearing they were the best headphones on Earth, blabla... know what happen? He bought HD280 and came back to excuse himself...
Also , you should have a lot of respect for gluegun, he's absolutely the best when we talk about headphones.

Michael Russo, I have to agree with you, in only 1 point.And it is that the 7506 are better! :D But you misread or misunderstood what I said... When I mentioned "professional" I wanted to mean the headphone section, not generally "professional".I know that almost none of the studios have SONY speakers etc.
Anyway, please be kind, I didn't tell your opinion "ty and unexperienced", and you, Miss RazerYokes, don't tell me to shut up... be a bit polite. I don't know you, you don't know me.
I hope that this thread isn't going to end with a personal argument again...

dont be a moron!... i know about 13 pairs of headphones from friends,other djs,etc...that broke at the same point of the headphone ..so its not just me its many people ...paying 100+$ u better have a in headphone that will last u more then a year.. mayb when you have more experiance useing headphones ull see what i mean about the design of these headphones ..they are simply ty .... and especially if your an active dj who will use them ever day ..during a set put them on and off ..it just doesnt hold up for that , they are great for home use mayb but thats it ..for real djs its ty. one thing i do like is the swivel of the ear piece thats really nice for cueing up . but unless they change the engineer of the design so you have more support on the swivel so that plastic thing doesnt break off ..im not gonna waste my money and no one should be stupid enough to do that as well |

Thats easy, its called sponorship. Mauro probably doesnt pay for them, and probably doesnt care if they dont last 10 years for him. Sony probably gives him plenty of new cans for free.

Tested and owned sure, theres nothing wrong with trying a product and seeing for yourself. But you make it sound like every single dj in the world owns and loves these and knows no other headphone... I can think of a few who dont use them (at least from pictures ive seen)... AvB, Jean, Matt Hardwick, Jules, PvD, Sasha (diggers too I think), Marco V, thats just right off the top of my head.
Despite what you may think, these cans arent the beloved industry standard like technics are to turntables. I admit I enjoyed mine while they were working, but from my own personal experiences and the many, many testimonies Ive heard from others who've had them break/fail, I will never buy a pair of MDR v700's again and never reccomend to anyone that they do either. Thats just my opinion :D |
