why don't we do a big complain to sony about those headphones...
they should made a new "edition" of these but more durable.
for sure if alot of people do complain they'll make new ones...
but at what price ?

Untrue. Back in the day, they made quality products. We have an old sony tv, older than me, still running fine. The newer stuff sucks . We have 2 new tv's that are junk now, we have to keep fixing them.
As for the headphones, I got suckered into buying them. I payed wayyy to much for what I got. It looks nice and goes loud, but that's all I'll give it. |

oh yeah, they get heavy and uncomfortable after a while. :P
They're ok for dj'ing, but for regular listening.... nah. |

Who told you that they are pretty sturdy ?
If the 500s are much durable quality than the 700s... then why the heck we pay double price for the 700s ???
we know that human hearing frequency range goes from 20Hz to 20kHz.
500s frequency respond goes : 10Hz - 25kHz which is fair enough for me I think... think that theres a range that we can't even hear.
the 700s are : 5Hz - 30kHz .... well nice.. but can't make audible difference with the 500s.
Power handling is 3000mW for 700s and 1000mW for 500s...
my little sony fontopia earbud are 50mW and its enough to go deaf at maximum volume...
impedance is the same for 500s and 700s : 24 ohms
driver unit is 40mm for 500s and 50mm for 700s. ok.. good for the 700s
Sensitivity is 107 dB/mW for 700s... and 105dB for 500s... beated only by 2 dB... 500s sucks :toothless
finally.. the 500s is less heavy so more confortable... make sense
so... I think I made my decision... 500s it is for half the price of 700s ! isn'T a good deal ? |

One thing I forgot... by seeing them on pictures...
They are exactly the same.. only the color is different...
so why would the 500s be more sturdy ? |

You're right. Excuse my "shut up", i'm in a crappy mood since few days... I was the first to think that v700 were good when I went to the sony store because I saw tiesto using them and they look good. But, I started to read and ask for tips about headphones to finally realise that v600&v700 are overpriced. Try to be a little bit more mind-opened. I don't know enough to say that v700 = pure crap, but I know that Sony is not giving as much quality as they were giving before..

You can't buy headphones by looking at numbers, they don't mean anything.
You actually have to put them on and try them, see how comfortable they are, listen to how they sound, and from there you can make your decision.
I think the majority of poeple who have actually tried different headphones, and not afraid to admit they spent alot of money on garbage ones, agree that the sony mdr-vWhatever lines of headphones suck for the price you're paying. |

Umm, i understood that you don't know a fack about the 700's! :o
PvD used them in 2000, AvB has used them also, Sasha has used them, Jules uses sennheiser, etc. etc. Before I bought them I had about 100 photos with famous djs that had these headphones.I am sad for not having these fotos now, or else everyone would shut the fack up! :D

I think that you've got to be a stupid to give € 156 and use the 700's for regular listening...! :crazy: Too expensive and not designed for home use! ;) |

Heh, that dude got the idea... Everyone go test all the headphones for yourself and then decide.Don't get obsessed by anything!And if you want to buy a good pair of headphones, do not look at the price...Just fill your pocket with some cash before you leave the house! :haha: |
