Maybe my outrage is misplaced and over-inflated by the trauma of my personal experience. It's not as though I haven't thought about how my own psychology relates to my reaction and I try and understand that when speaking to these issues. I also think there are relevant distinctions given the remoteness of pun thread topics in which gallows humor is encouraged and those concerning tragedies which are closer to home. |

to be honest, i cant even see how him stating "all men are evil" would flip you out and relate to a personal experience.
It's common fact that christians hide behind their bad deeds with the excuse that they were born with original sin. So this shouldn't be a newsflash.
Anyways, Eddie, your a good guy and great contributor to the forum with regards to opinions and vocabulary that is delightful to read. But in this case i think the flipout/ban seems unwarranted.
I've posted noodz of forum members on here and got off with much less
no pun intended. :) |

I would question the suspension if it were based merely on "offensive indifference." Offensiveness is in the eye of the beholder and indifference to the deaths of a small number of unfamiliar people does not strike me as unreasonable.
Here, however, mattsanity's posts consisted of little more than the same tired act that he has repeated in numerous other threads. In substance, his conduct amounts to little more than spam. I agree that he should not be permitted to repeatedly derail threads with tangential ramblings about the purported "evil" of men.
Although I think that we should avoid sanctioning people merely for sharing their views (however inane), it does not follow that they must be free to repost those views ad nauseam in every thread in the forum. At some point, moderators must draw a line between mere expression and disruptive spamming, and I think that the moderators could have reasonably concluded that mattsanity's behavior in this forum, taken as a whole, has crossed that line. |

The reason it pisses me off isn't because he's posing an idea for a conversation that's not worth having but the insincerity and context with which he is doing so. I understand if you still disagree but I wanted to make it clear, that's what it was. |
