| Yeah anyway, do you agree then that it isn't unreasonable to ask people to keep bull contained to the threads they happen in? And ends when the day ends? I really think a major issue around here is that people (yes, myself included) drag their crap all over the forum, derailing threads and spreading the bull. It would certainly decrease all the butthurt around here exponentially. It's the most simple solution imo. SURPRISED NONE OF YOU THOUGHT OF IT. HAR HAR HAR. |

Yes and no. I think that, in theory, it's a great idea. It seems, though, that it would be something that is difficult to practice. People aren't just going to go to bed and wake up the next morning thinking, "You know, that bitch said all of this about my wife/lover/whatever, but it's the next day, so I'm OK." I can see stuff like this being taken to PMs, which are impossible for the mods to police. Also, what is the cutoff? Midnight in a specific timezone? When you wake up? What if you haven't been to sleep?
I think that your idea has a lot of potential, but it would require a lot of stern moderation from the mods, which is something that the COR is not used to at all. |

Bahahahaha if people wake up the next day still upset about some that happened ON THE INTERNET WITH STRANGERS then perhaps what they need is a break from the internet, lol.
But your suggestion about taking things to pm is good. And yes the cutoff would be sometime late at night. We do have some overlap in time zones don't we?
Stern moderation? Maybe in the beginning. But if they stick to the rules and follow through every time, people will see that its for real. Like training a puppy.
I don't see what the big deal is. Again, if I'm okay with it, everyone else should be too. |

Think about everything that has gone on here in the past couple of days, then ask yourself if that's too crazy. It's the COR, things have always been like that and there will be no changing it. People take this personally, even you to a certain extent whether you like to admit it or not (you wouldn't have bothered to post Bas saying you didn't give a if you really gave zero s, for example).

You're right, but we've said the same every time something like this happens in the COR and there are new rules. Those "new rules" end up fading away over time and we always end up right where we are now. Maybe I'm just being overly pessimistic about this, but that's where I see this heading. I think we just need more stern moderation in general, 24/7.

I think your ideas are great, but I'll wait to see if you bitch at someone if they bring up the You/Eric/Hal/Selma thing again, or if you talk to srussell in different threads. If you can fully apply your ideas to yourself, then I think we should be able to apply them to the COR. |
