Not so much anymore. I'm content in flats, but I will wear a 3"-4" heel if it is a fancy occasion. I used to wear stripper heels at like 6" plus that little platform. :wtf:

I tip my hat to you then. I'm going out next week to celebrate my friend getting a nice raise, and plan on wearing an awesome party dress I haven't worn since I bought it 2 years ago. I'm going to also wear a pair of 6" platform heels I have never worn, lol. It's SO hard to walk in them, not being able to feel the floor under my feet and all. Fortunately we're going to a vodka bar, so it should be fine.

I am nearly always the shortest everywhere(at work, among coursemates, swim class) (I'm 5'7'') Never had a problem with it. When it comes to insecurities, it is veeery difficult to throw me off since I used to be bullied around in primary school (mostly for being short, I was so short back then, around like 140cm (whatever that is in feet and inches) for like atleast 1.5 years or so, then it suddenly jumped up :D )

Men do tend to be insecure of their shortness. I'm a woman, 5'8-5'9 and I could see how uncomfortable some men I dated were when I wore heels and end up towering over them. Not sexy. Who cares if I appear taller? Relax!
I just don't get how if a 6"2 guy goes to the gym , is assertive, maybe drives a nice car, stands up for himself etc, he's seen as a alpha male , but if a short guy is the same way he has to be compensating for something and or insecure about himself. :wtf:

Because there's doing it to a reasonable extent, and and there's going way overboard. The latter is more common in short guys.

I lived in Australia for a year in '11, at some point I stayed at a hostel and got "friendly" with a French girl, who, without heels is already taller than I am, the manager of the hostel told me " hey mate, don't look at girls taller than you " - I wasn't sure whether I should laugh or cry.
About working out, I guess everybody has THAT insecurity, because if somebody is telling you something like " oh I go to the gym just to stay healthy " I say "bull". I have been swimming for years, but it is mostly to look good, but it isn't something like this when I look in the mirror "Daaaamn, you look good bro, too bad I'm straight". Then again, sometimes you do see guys that have taken it a bit tooooooooo far, arms so strong, even a "gentle touch in her face" would feel like a punishment to her.
