Short people... (pg. 7)

I'm 5'11'.

The funny thing is, nearly every "heartthrob" actor is below average height: Tom Cruise, James McAvoy, Al Pachino, Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Slater, Johnny Depp, Scotty Caan, Daniel Radcliffe, Josh Hutcherson, Gael García Bernal, Giovanni Ribisi...

All 5'7" or under.

Must be big business for custom concealed platform shoes in hollywood lol

Star actresses tend to be above average height, from what I've read. I wonder if it has something to do with the way body parts are emphasized on camera for leading men versus women or something? Interesting.

Most male actors I've met are small but well proportioned guys....

with MASSIVE heads. I'm not joking. Mark Wahlberg, Russel Crowe, David Oyelowo, Jack Black, Joaquin Phoenix etc. Heads are disproportionately large.

There was a great interview that Micheal caine gave on this subject:

quote:
The first thing is, if you are a man with a very small head, or a woman with a very big one... you will never see a romantic couple on the screen, as a success, where the man's head is smaller than the woman's. The woman's head must always be smaller, but you don't notice it. If you saw it you wouldn't even notice it, you'd just know that you didn't like this couple.

If you can see your nostrils from straight on, you'll never do it. If you can see your gums as you're speaking, above your teeth, you'll never do it. If, in the normal relaxed posture of your face, you can see the whites above your eyes, you will never become a leading lady or man, because it's disconcerting.

But as I said in the book, if you have all three you'll probably make a very good living in horror movies!

Haha, one of my friends said that to me a long time ago (about the huge heads) and I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it.

I can think of one notable exception to that, though: Leonardo Dicaprio.

Jake Gyllenhaal always struck me as having a massive head.

Depending on the framing and angles a movie can fool you into thinking someone is tall. I just watched Valkyrie after seeing this thread. I know Tom Cruise is short but they do a good job of hiding it for that matter any movie he has been in.

I'm not ready to subscribe to a red piller theory but it's pretty obvious having a pleasing face to look at helps and most everything below the neck can be fixed. But if you can't act that's a non starter.

Btw dell needs to get a better publicist. Based on his pics I've seen I thought he was 5'4. Maybe he needs to find shorter friends.

What about Minnie Driver. She's got a gianormous head and does pretty well for her self

benn affleks head is gigantic in ratio to his body
if you look at just his head, it looks normal...but zoom out and look at it in relation to his body and it looks like a booble head or pez dispenser....not hating here, just pointing it out lol.....we all have our peculiararities in our bodies

like he is listed at 6'2 i think but that is inflated obviously...but even still......his massive head adds a good inch or 2 to his body that is just head...it's not body height it's "head height"
alec baldwin

there is massive inflation of mens height, the height they say they are....the rule is subtract 2 inches from a mans reported height and that is his real height...barefoot.
you get 95% of guys who are 5'9-6 all saying they are 6 feet to everyone...so it dilutes the real value of a full barefoot 6 feet actual height
enydo
lmao
Syntonic
It's like his thoughts are on meth.

6'2" here...sometimes an inch taller if I'm having a neat day.

Lol you morons don't have clue about photography. Those celeb are shot using a wide angle lens that exaggerates the size of their heads. Look at the poster behind him the blue square logo get larger the higher they are.

Nah, he;s got a massive head, regardless of focal point and lens type.

Just look at the baldwin pic - Sarah Jessica Parker's head is half the mass lol.

when she shaved her head for the movie "X", i thought it was CGI or something at first because it looked like really unnatural......her oblong skull is covered by hair ususally but if you just look at it from the side it doesnt look like a normal "well shaped skull"...it looks like moreof an alien/egyptian skull....

look at how much distance there is between the eye and the ear
