What's so funny about people realizing that getting ed out of their minds and acting crazy every weekend might not be worth doing for their whole lives? If anything, good on them for having fun while they were younger and then moving on. Hell, most people on here "met" when they were college-aged, and most college kids party their asses off and then become "suits". That's just life. |
What's this? Idoru making a post about how unsurprised and unimpressed he is by something someone else finds noteworthy!? Stop the press.
What was that about a broken record? |

My post had nothing to do with being "unsurprised and unimpressed". :stongue: You were talking about people here, and I pointed out that there's really nothing worth talking about. I disagreed with your post, but I was neither "unsurprised [nor] unimpressed". It's as simple as that.
Not to mention that we've already been over this (*cough*brokenrecord*cough*) in Music Discussion, and you didn't seem to argue with me when I pointed out that I actually am surprised and impressed by a lot of music and that I actually do post constructively. Quit acting so butthurt about the fact that I go "Meh" in threads about music that you like. If it will make you feel any better, I'd be delighted to make a few threads in MD and watch people hate on them, because I couldn't care less if someone doesn't like what I like. |

"My internet dick is bigger than yours."
And really, I don't typically try to turn anything into a pissing match. System-J just hasn't really enjoyed reading my posts lately and has taken a liking to bitching about it rather than ignoring me. |

I think the quickest and easiest way for you guys to put an end to all of your arguments, ever, would be to take pics of your cocks and post them in response to anyone who ever pisses you off.
Whoever has the biggest dick wins!

A couple days ago I was on my way into Walmart when I briefly slipped on what appeared to be transmission fluid spilled all over the walkway in front of the store.
There were no signs warning customers of the spill.
On my way out there was an ambulance and fire truck tending to an old man who slipped on the spill and a team of people trying to clean it up.
My question. Was this my chance to get the big bucks?
I genuinely slipped on my way into the store. Hmmm. Maybe I should have taken a hard fall on purpose and gotten some kind of injury. Hell, transmission fluid can be tricky stuff.
They say opportunities only come once, I think I missed my chance.

Ignoring the stupidity of the situation you have illustrated, The answer to your question boils down simply to this;
Can you see yourself spending 5 years living like a bum (masquerading to highlight the alleged long term impacts of a "injury" to substantiate the award of damages) in order to possibly get nothing in return?
I had a good friend of mine who was hit by a city transit bus while riding her bike, she had legitimate serious injuries and based on the police report of the incident, the driver of the bus was clearly at fault. The subsequent lawsuit (filed by my friend) lasted almost 6 years and netted around $650,000 in damages awarded (after legal fees were paid. However in order to receive this "windfall" (i use the term lightly as 650k is not nearly enough to supplement a lifetime of lost wage potential) she endured years of accusations leveled by the city solicitor suggesting that she was "suffering from depression, feeling suicidal thoughts and actively attempted to cause a collision with the bus" or that "her injuries are perceived and not real". All the while, her legal team advised her against holding down any real employment to avoid diminishing the potential value of the settlement. This went on for 6 years until it came to light that the city had noted that the driver in question had been disciplined 3 times for substance abuse on the job (apparently he was a fan of the noon hour six pack club) and that a previously unreleased internal city memo attested to the fact that the driver had a BAC of .07 on the night of the accident.
Long story short, the defendants legal team will relentlessly villianize you and frustrate the legal process until you either give up, settle for crumbs or go broke funding the legal process......
Moreover, do you really think ANYONE will respect you at all if get a check for $1M for slipping in a puddle of transmission fluid? |
