For those who follow Mat Zo on Twitter, you know that he is one of the most interesting DJs on there. He holds nothing back as he tweets a total stream of consciousness. Since yesterday morning, though, he is no longer present. And – brace your ears – here is why:

“Let’s Go” is Mat Zo and Arty‘s emotive track “Rebound,” bastardized by will.i.am for his new album #willpower which is set to release on April 19.

Listen to the original below.

We know that Pop music has always sampled good electronic tracks (looking at you, Flo.rida), capitalizing on the creativity of DJs and producers to quickly manufacture a radio hit. And will.i.am has an uncanny ability to fabricate catchy beats and match them with meaningless, grammar-defying lyrics. ‘Let’s Go’ mixes all of these trends together. Chris Brown batters the beauty of ‘Rebound’ in a situation so terrifying that I have to shield my ears.

Zo apparently knew nothing of the rip, and deleted his Twitter account in protest. The question is, though, did Anjunabeats know? ‘Rebound’ was released on Above & Beyond’s label in April of 2011, and will.i.am must have had to obtain rights to the song through the label, right? Apparently not.

Arty came out in defense of Mat Zo and Anjunabeats through his twitter.

It seems “Let’s Go” is not the result of a breakdown in label / artist relations, but rather a case of music piracy. We’ll keep you updated on developments with Mat Zo, Anjunabeats, and will.i.am.

How does deleting your Twitter account solve any problems? I don't get it.

I think there is more to this then what we're being led to believe.

what i think everyone needs to understand is that this is not just merely taking a 'sampler' and turning it into a different song. This is very much like those copied iPod products, or pirated $5 DVDs sold on the black market, but this itme is worse because a celebrity that is famous and popular like will.i.am seems to ENCOURAGE it.

will.i.am is a DISGRACE esp. to the U.S./Hollywood music industry. Our country fights for piracy and patent products that are copied in China and other third world countries. The fact that will.i.am stole a sampler off ARTY & Mat Zo's "Rebound", it's DEGRADING the quality and originality of U.S./Hollywood music industry!

On top of that, Chris Brown's vocal too just adding insult to the injury.

I'm also confuse as to why he would delete his twitter account. What does he gain by doing that??

Have seen

"Let's Go" is a BLATANT copy of "Rebound" by Arty and Mat Zo

"Bang Bang" uses the same chord progression as "Epic" by Sandro Silva and Quintino

"That Power" has the same background as "Kate" by Arty

Mat Zo...

"(Im really glad I deleted my twitter account so that I'm not inclined to say what I'm about to say in under 140 characters)

I really and truely appreciate all the support you are giving me and Arty in response to Will I Am's copyright infringement. However, this doesnt excuse the horrific abuse youre sending the way of Will I Am and Chris Brown, and it especially doesnt excuse being racist.

You dont need to defend me or Arty. Producers often wait their whole careers for a commercial act to up and sample their track without asking permission. Arty and I are not bitter about this, more suprised. We knew Will I Am was interested in this track, but we declined working with him at the time.

To conclude, perhaps it is better to invest your energy into supporting 'Rebound' instead of spewing at Will I Am and Chris Brown. The reason I left twitter was to aleviate myself from outbreak the verbal diarrhea which I had caught and which im seeing all over the internet today.

Thank you :)"
