ahhhh! Hip Hop Day! *shudders* :nervous:

But to choose between Hip Hop Day and Nikki Webster...that's a decision I hope I never have to make. To listen to either of them would be torture.

Today this 13 year old wanker saw me listening to GU022 and said "oh you're listening to that techno doof doof wog music again"...now it's uneducated rascals like that who are the product of Video Hits. I'm going a party this weekend where the organiser is planning to play 'trance' in the form of Scooter- The Logical Song all night...*sighs*

The image that the majority of people around here have of dance music is quite disconcerting.

I saw that Trance Central ad on TV, and my first thought was "great, it's about time". It sounded good to me, e.g. 4 String - Into the night, that's a nice track.

Chill out a bit people, this is nowhere near as bad as the music of the early Wild FM crap, nor R & B.

What's wrong with Ian Van Dahl? Have you heard her track "Nights on Java"? I just listened to it just a few minutes ago, and it is top quality, I heard it first at Altitude 003 on 13 July at Dendy and didn't know what it was... I thought it was a track by Dirk Dierickx (aka Push, aka M.I.K.E.). I took note of the time it was played and when the tracklists were posted I found out it was "Nights on Java". And yes Ian Van Dahl is female.

Make sure you have heard enough from an artist before making a judgement on them. Even then, your judgement may change when the artist come up with new stuff, so it's best not to be so "anal" about it all, this stuff is not as bad as R & B.

A couple of months ago I bought:

Vengaboys - Uncle john from jamaica
Vengaboys - Kiss (when the sun don't shine)

Most of us would agree they're cheesy pop tracks, and you'd probably ignore them if you saw them in the music store. But for a few of us who are actually aware that it is possible to find cheesy pop tracks that have been remixed into a top-notch trance track, we look at the tracklist just in case. So what did I find?

Vengaboys - Uncle john from jamaica (M.I.K.E. remix)
Vengaboys - Kiss (when the sun don't shine) (Airscape remix)

Both of them are awesome tracks, and they are worth much more than the $1 each that I paid for the single CDs.

Uncle john
To extract: tranceaddict

So nowadays I always look at the tracklist to CD singles of "cheesy" tracks, because there could be good remixes.

straight out

Actually Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Mix) is a real quality tune .. every 2-3 months or so there is a thread on Music Discussion about the worst tune remixed into a good tune. Usually about 1/2 the people say this tune :D
