| Well there's nothing to lose, and there's nothing to prove! |

| When I first moved to Leeds and hadn't got to know anyone, I used to go to nights on my own. Met a lot of friendly people, ended up at some after parties, even got lucky with a girl once or twice. It can be liberating to just do without relying on the mutual interest of your mates, sometimes. I actually wish I could still bring myself to do it now. |

Why is that weird? I prefer to dance alone...getting lost in tunes is a pretty personal experience.
edit: and to add to what System J said - the scene is really not that large. I have gone out alone many times, knowing I would see friends or acquaintances...or even just meet new people. It's definitely a nice break to just do your own thing and not have to wait on or worry about someone else/a group of people. |

| Why is it strange to dance alone? More precisely, when are you not dancing alone to EDM? I'd only really consider dancing with someone if you are actually in constant contact with them, and well I've never seen anyone doing a waltz or anything like that at a club. |

It's more about clubbing on your own, because the fun of clubbing is not just dancing, but sitting down and chatting, or jumping around together in excitement when a great track comes in, or trying to blag your way into chatting with a DJ, and so on. A good night out is a big adventure. That's sort-of why I don't really go out on my own anymore.
And as for "constant contact"... it's pretty ing awesome kissing someone on a dancefloor, moving your hands in time with the music, breaking away at the right moments, etc. |

I used to do this during my clubbing years. |

| I've always wanted to kiss someone/have a moment with them on the dancefloor. I just didn't know how to make something like that happen when I was single. Just a romantic fantasy I guess. |

I had it happen to me once. It was a bit weird though because her sister was dancing a few feet away, haha. |

| I still go out by myself every once in a while, sometimes it's more fun than going with my friends. |

I've had that happen to me a few times as well, though almost always while in some sort of dapper costume. |
