Oh my god, the actual habanero-based sauces from Mexico are ing splendid.
This isn't one of them, but I picked up this one in Cabo:

And promptly paid my brother to eat a spoonful of it for a dollar. What a waste of a dollar. :( |

| Habanero sauces aren't hot enough imo to where a bet like that would be worth it. I could definitely have a spoonful no problem. Get them a sauce with a Ghost pepper sauce, or Scotch Bonnet, and that would be a good one. |

Sorry, this is the one I actually got. Derp. It was the habanero type:

And my brother is only 12... I didn't want to ruin the trip so early into it! |

| I suppose that's true. I remember being around 8 or 9 in school and having some Mexican appreciation day, and some kid brought in a bowl full of Jalapenos for the class to try. They were just biting into them whole and I remember at least 4 or 5 had to go to the nurse's office because they couldn't stop crying, were throwing up, or both. Now Jalapenos don't even really taste all that spicy to me. |

No joke, I love jalapenos because of their flavour/utility. We had some tuna rolls inside of peppers a few weeks ago that were amazing, but definitely not what I would call spicy.
And it looks like Scotch bonnets are in fact precisely in the same Scoville range that habaneros are (I hadn't heard of them before). I have yet to try ghost pepper in any true context- most restaurants are afraid to market them, but who can blame them? Americans can be pretty craven and litigious. :p |

It's true. Every time I go to a Thai or Indian place and ask for their "non-American level of spicy" I'm still always disappointed.
And Ghost peppers are deadly. Unlike anything I've ever experienced. There's a place here who make Buffalo wings tossed in Ghost Pepper sauce and after about 4 or 5 your mouth almost goes numb, and your eyes start watering like crazy. There's about 2 or 3 warnings on the menu for them, and the waiter warns you as well when you order them. They have the sauce per request in a bottle and we used to bet people $20 they couldn't eat a crisp with one drop of the sauce on it and not drink anything for 5 minutes. Almost nobody could do it. |

I made my "Amerimexican tacos" for our last dinner together in Europe as a thank you to my hosts. They loved them.
I cut the tip of my index finger off, too, cutting the lettuce.
The ironic part of the whole thing is it's a new VERY BLUE knife and I made a crack about it at lunch when using it to cut some tomatoes.
Bastard :whip: |

| I live in a small-ish city, so it's sort of surprising that we actually have 3 or 4 mom+pop/authentic Mexican restaurants here. Must be the green belt bringing in all that cheap labour lolololol. |

I like Chipotle
Definitely not authentic though. |

| It's "okay." Definitely far from "delicious." |
