The event was clearly advertised as a picnic and concert series. Not a full on raging club night.

I would never go to a picnic expecting a full on massive sound system. I would be going expecting something chill and laid back.

Didn't realize Carlo played "laid back picnics".

Chill and laid back?? Huh? 5,000 people and you don't expect a massive sound system? That's absurd.

Stop talking down to us honestly, the event was mediocre by most standards. Not to say most people didnt have a good time. Do you work with the organizers, bull.

WTF is a concert series? If I hear the word concert, I expect to see a band or a live artist like deadmau5 or infected mushroom, not a dj playing records. Just because it's a picnic, doesn't mean the sound has to be bad to the point where it hurts your ears. I had more of an issue with it being like that than too quiet (farrr too quiet) in areas that weren't all that far from the stage. I guess piknik in Montreal means something different than picnic in Toronto. The volume is just right and it's clear as a bell. I can understand them not getting it right their first time, which was unfortunate, but to defend the sound is really ridiculous, especially after the organizers have apologized on facebook and said they are more upset than we are and it will DEFINITELY be fixed for next time

if this is suppose to be a chilled/laidback event, then i wanna see a full on deep/chilled house line up from top to bottom, no tech house, no techno... i still enjoyed myself, but a change of music would help if thats the atmosphere that they were going for...

i understand sound by-laws, so im not overly chessed about it, but how about a speaker stack facing the lake??? it would be directing the sound away from the island and towards the city...

That's an absolutely terrible idea. Sound travels better over water than over land.

Considering all of the condo development by the waterfront and the islanders, my guess is that they had to face some issues with sound and keeping it at a certain threshold. I'm just speculating of course.

Some of you may recall the struggles Cherry Beach and The Docks went through with the people on the islands from a few years back.

yeah i get that, but the islanders live on the island and we are partying on the island so if you put speakers facing away from the island, the sound would travel to the shore... thats my thinking...

...Right into the direction of all of the people living in condos down by the Harbour Front. Fantastic idea!

The Highroller
So who is headlining the next?

They need to iron out things for the next event. Better sound system hopefully, better, more food choices, more organized food stalls hopefully. Bigger dj stage with better lighting would be a bonus.

There's a lot of Digital dreams djs around. It would be fun to have Luciano play. But not sure what his availability is like. Wouldn't mind Hawtin and Dubfire do a B2B set. That would be epic too. Just some ideas for the organizers if they haven't already booked the artists. :p

Luciano would be awesome, but he's at Moskito after so I doubt it
