Electric Island w/ Seth Troxler Review (in progress) (pg. 8)

Oh, boy. Sasha, Audiofly AND Guy Gerber for the same ticket price. Assuming the weather holds up and the sound is improved (I have confidence), this is almost too epic to be true. Add in Digital Dreams and this is going to be one amazing weekend for the books.

You can thank the island and it's multi-thousand capacity for the cheap ticket prices. The fact that they can accommodate that many paying customers (far more than any club, minus Kool Haus) makes it cheaper for everyone. Makes you wonder why parties like Digital Dreams are so much more expensive but then I'm reminded that they book super expensive cheese like Tiesto and maybe Ontario Place charges a lot more rent than the Island does?

Very much looking forward to the long weekend and the other ones this summer. This massive non-ink venue is really opening the door to bring in massive djs at a cheap ticket price, like Troxler, that weren't as feasible before. I'd much prefer to see Sven Vath here over Moskito but maybe next summer!

Here's hoping this turns into a weekly party next summer like Piknik!

Wow, hats off to you and the organizers. In a world of $100+ ticket prices, this is a testament to the fact that you guys care about your patrons, and don't want to gouge them.

There has been so much greed and money grabbing going on in the scene over the past 2-3 years. To say that the above post was refreshing would be a gross understatement.

I'm definitely in for this one.

Great post
I forgot another reason Digital Dreams and other similar parties are so pricey is because companies like Rogers are behind them and are looking to profit as much as possible.

I just bought the ticket online. Just to confirm, I present the entire page at the ferry too? It's only one ticket, just making sure I won't have to pay another ferry ticket since I bought the entrance+ferry ticket.

It's Toronto so I have to doublecheck these things.
