Anyone used a headhunter before?
Someone suggested maybe using one if I wanted to look for a new job. Been thinking about it. I am pretty lazy when it comes to selling myself in the way that it takes to score jobs (I seriously have an issue writing anything positive about myself, I am far too much of the type that is overly critical on myself haha).
I have a decent amount of material for a good portfolio and previous experience, just wondering if its worth it. |

If you're good at what you're doing and you're doing it in a field where there's more demand than supply, then yes.

They do both. Employers and potential employees can use them. Its pretty big in the tech field for both, at least in the US. |

I have used them before and actually they got me some pretty amazing offers, but either the timing was wrong for some reason I always ended up finding the best fitmyself.
They certainly did push up my bracket tough, as the jobs they offered were always about 20% more than I'd find by myself for technical roles but it got me in to the mind set of valuing myself higher or having a bargaining chip in interviews. The only downside is that they are nearly always super corporate jobs - very few smaller/boutique environments can afford to pay pro recruitment rates or headhunter fees, so you have been warned if that's not your thing. |

That I have other things to do while also looking for a job? Headhunters are incredibly routine in the tech field. I haven't even started looking retard, this is just something I am considering.
Also when you are as good as me people come looking for you, it just happens I don't want to move around the world or to a third world country (Florida) to work right now. Unfortunately my strongest skillset is in industry where that is pretty much required, so I want to see if there is someone who can find use for my skills closer to home. |
