the maker of sylenth is probably dead from an overdose or in the bahamas. I really doubt it will ever see a 64 bit version.

At ing last, and I have to say, I think they;ve done a great job from the looks of it so far.

from an engineering perspective, the track workflow seems to be a big step forward, and I love being able to move non-contigeous tracks around so easily.

The midi FX are great and now means the environment is fully redundant for me (yay!).

The audio editing makes sense, and to have both the audio file and track view so easy to toggle means it's back to editing like in the good ol' days of acid pro.

The tracks stacks is nice an certainly a unique feature that I don't think any other daw has, but the bit that I don't like is that is slightly blurs the lines between traditional aux/groups; you could still have multiple synths play from one midi input and even put them in to a folder so I suppose this has simplified it but it feels a little weird having a proprietary method to do it, rather than just assigning midi I/O......could get messy on larger projects if you don't keep track of everything.

Wow, it did already. The KVR's are a testy little bunch aren't they :p

As for the no upgrade price, $200 is an upgrade price as far as I'm concerned.

Even though I'm pretty spoiled by cheap Sonar upgrades, I agree that $200 is a good deal, whether it's an upgrade or not. I just bought Logic 9 a few months ago, knowing full well that Logic X could be released at any time, so I took a calculated risk and can't complain. I do feel sorry for guys like tehlord, though - Geoff, didn't you just buy it like a week or so ago? I really wish they'd be reasonable and give guys like you a free upgrade.

Hang on, isn't there some distance selling law thing? You can return anything within two weeks here in california. Might still apply as apple is obviously US based?

sample accurate automation still not fixed. I've heard the multi core issue has been but only from 1 person so that would be nice to know. If they didn't fix that, there is no point.

I can't go back further. I just got my first Mac/Logic a few months ago and only have a half dozen projects going with it so far.

Thinking about it, it's not that big a deal to me. I'd be more pissed if I bought Logic for $700 18 months ago. I'm in the same boat as anybody who bought it really.

Furthermore, I do need the 32 bit part of it as I bought Logic for a job that requires a couple of 32 bit plugs.

Out of interest, can you run 9 and X alongside each other or does it overwrite your old install?

read createdigitalmusic.com about it, they wrote an entire article about it a few hours ago, it sits alongside with the older version.
