read createdigitalmusic.com about it, they wrote an entire article about it a few hours ago, it sits alongside with the older version. |
Yeah, Apple made quite a smart move by doing this; there's always some inherent problem with going to e newer version of a DAW, and in this case the big one is no 32bit support, so allowing 9 to sit alongside 10 makes perfect sense.
From the initial reports however, it seems Logic X is fully backwards compatible for older project versions. |

It's opening my Logic 9 projects without a hiccup, but it does create a project file in the new "Logic X Project" file format in the same folder as the original, while keeping the original Logic 9 project file intact. |

Maybe not, and it's certainly early days but I haven't heard of a single person that couldn't open a LP8 or even LP8 project. That's pretty remarkable considering when cubase/logic/protools used to bring out a new version, you'd basically not bother even trying until several bug fix updates had come out.

I suppose that makes sense; if you start adding things that are now proprietary to LPX, then this is a kind of idiots failsafe to save a new project (not that you could save a LP9 file but you get the point).
I've also been monitoring the bug threads on a few different sites and it seems that there's only very minor/niggly things, but the big ones like core load sharing and output 1-2 stealing have been fixed.
Apparently though, aside from it "feeling snappier" like for like performance against LP9 is the same with audio tracks (not including CPU core sharing which is obviously much better).
Some people are reporting that they're able to use tiny (i.e. 32) buffer sizes which was impossible in LP9 so it seems the overheads are less if the max usage isn't. |

hahah sorry guys :P
it's not a great solution, but it does work. i'll still be looking to phase out sylenth1 though but at least this saves me for legacy projects |

Hi there, i am new here to the forum, have been watching it for a while, and now registered because of this picture with Logic X and Sylenth 1.
I cannot get success: jbridged Sylenth 1 and scanned it with Maschine. But Maschine does not recognize the bridged Sylenth 1-version (V 2.2).
I am using Jbridge 0,76 in Demo Mode.
Can you please help? Maybe as a step-by-step-tutorial :conf: |
