We did not do . Obama drew the line and boxed himself in like an inexperienced idiot. Now he wants to save face. So the US is going to spend untold amounts of millions on the missiles etc.
And who the appointed the US as the enforcer of international law? No one. The UN has its own enforcement procedures to deal with violations of international laws. There have been prosecutions for war crimes, and human rights violations etc. See eastern europe, the nazis, africa, etc.

obama. essentially, he's vowing to correct or punish a violation international law by violating international law.
A US attack on Syria would be lawful under only two circumstances: (1) the US is defending itself from a Syrian attack (2) the US has gained permission from the UN security council. Neither has taken place and a consequence, a US attack on Syria would be against international law. International law is US law, so an attack on Syria would be in violation of US law.
Doesn't matter if congress backs him or not or if other nations agree to support the US in some capacity. Its still against the law. The British were smart to realize that.
Obama is taking the US on a path of international vigilantism. I hope the congress sees the danger that Obama presents. In conclusion, Obama. |
