Maybe sometjing happens While camping I am unaware of. Camping in nature is one thing but at a festival doesn't seem like a lot of rest would happen. Maybe that's the point. |
Have you ever been to a camping festival? This is such a common argument and it's really dumb. They invented these really cheap things called earplugs which can reduce sound down 32 dB. I've never been to a camping festival where this wasnt enough rejection to sleep (even with nearby renegade camps).
At a camping festival you have the freedom to be awake at 5am and have people to hang out with, or you can be sleeping. Win/win, not seeing the negative here.
Regarding your comment about the comfort of your own home... well you're in your home for the other 362 days of the year, so I don't see the big turnoff in camping for a few days. Camping is camping, this is nothing different in practice for music festivals. However,sSome people just don't like camping, but that's not really a good argument against it, except on a personal level, IMO.
Do you go camping at all?
I guess I just dont understand your argument. Some of it doesn't make since and some of it doesnt apply specifically to music festivals. Sounds to me like you just dont like camping :)

I am all for controlled environments with hot running water and clean beddin, etc. |
There has been a lot of progress on this front. Look up Oasis Showers which has been making it's way around the festival circuit.
Also, not showering for a day or two or being dirty for a while... what do you think humans did for tens of thousands of years... it's not going to hurt you :p |

Stern... you're beginning to sound more and more like me bro LOL!@
trust me... the outbreak at BPM only happened this past year (from what I've heard from people who gone year after year). Someone from the states most likely brought it down. It's a common 24 hour virus. I've had worse experiences drinking tons of whiskey the night before. And trust me... Whiskey s are the worst. |

TW was great because it was the first edition, it was not soldout ... therefore there was more space to dance.
I think it will not be the same during the next years, in fact TW could surpass TL in popularity soon, like TL did with Mysteryland ...
I went to the first editions of TL when it was free and it was way better than what it has became ... |

Trekked out of LA for TW and it was one of the best decisions I've made on what could have turned out to being an Epic Fail.
I have gone to Ultra but not EDC. While Ultra in it's inception years are memorable to me, I have to say that I'm finally grateful for a festival like TW in trying to create an environment that invites the festive and positive feel. What did it for me, however, was the 21+.... the line-up was no means impressive, so I was solely relying on the crowd and a good time with friends.. I ended up having an amazing time under an amazing production. I'm already planning on doing the dreamville next year ( It's said TW already has a 10 year contract in the area ).
My understanding is that Saturday was a Sold-Out and you could tell, but you still had enough space to roam free.
What I see happening next year is this time will sell out, perhaps 1 or 2 more tents? Crossing fingers for better line-up on the trance and especially techno field.
My only worry its a potential rain. If it rains on a friday that's murder for the whole weekend.
Getting out of that lot even on misty grass was a mission on it's own for a full van.
Conclusion: TomorrowWorld was worth every penny and some for me. |

Yeah, probably I don't like camping...
I thin I am just to OCD for th type of campin. Maybe when i was younger I would be ok. But now I am a princess.
Anyhow billy and I are old jaded farts and probably should't be hanging out with kids anyway. |

you're only as old as you feel. we have about anywhere from 8-12 years on most of you, yet we go out but we know our limits. ;) we don't rage for days on end for a festival, slow and steady "wins the race". if we didn't renew our vows, that money would have gone to TW. we were seriously debating it(after the year I had, I am glad we renewed our vows). what might hold us back from going is that BPM is just 3 months later. funding 2 trips like that is not easy and we also have our daughter in school(son will be in college but that's a bit different). our kids are our priority and being away too much isn't fair to them.
Robert, go outside your comfort zone! stop being such a pansy! anything that happens is just part of the story! :P
its time to find younger friends who can hang, Billy and Robert are too old. |

I hate camping, i despise not having climate control and humidity control. However I will be getting dreamville on my TomorrowWorld ticket next year for all the fun that happens in the campsite

They have enough room to double the festivals size. I wouldnt worry about it being uncomfortable

if i wanted to have a good time with my friends in a cool environment with ty music.. i'd just pay $25 to go to 6 flags for the day with my friends and put on the radio on the way instead of drop all that $ for TW.
i don't mean troll, i'm just having a hard time understanding everything lol. for the price you guys paid to travel cross country, on the expensive ticket, overpriced drinks, etc.. it would only be marginally more expensive to go to europe and check out the festivals there that have music to die for..
this is the 4 day line up for JUST awakenings at ADE next week. for $32 a night. at the GASHOUDER:

idk. maybe i'm missing something. |

I didn't get sick at BPM, but those that did are totally ok with pooping sideways for 24 hours for 10 days in music paradise. And it was a fluke, not likely to happen again this year.
And part of the festival experience should be to NOT go home in your own bed. EDC Vegas is hardly a festival IMO, more like a rave 3 nights in a row. Festivals should have music going 24 hours a day so that you may plug in and plug out whenever you choose. |
here's what I wrote comparing Groove Cruise to BPM, went to both
