i don't mean troll, i'm just having a hard time understanding everything lol. for the price you guys paid to travel cross country, on the expensive ticket, overpriced drinks, etc.. it would only be marginally more expensive to go to europe and check out the festivals there that have music to die for..

this is the 4 day line up for JUST awakenings at ADE next week. for $32 a night. at the GASHOUDER:

idk. maybe i'm missing something.

I hear you on the music thing. But as odd as this sounds, its not all about the music? If that makes sense.

That festival you posted has great music don't get me wrong, but from the looks of it you are in a big dome with a chandelier. That's not exactly eye candy or providing a unique experience. Music is a big part of the festival experience no doubt. But not the only element to factor in.

Burning man the first couple of years I attended had horrible music everywhere. And it hasn't gotten that much better. But I couldn't imagine missing one for so many other reasons. And I am a 10 year DJ that evolves much of my life around music. The art and the creative participation is like no other festival I am sure of it.

BPM is probably the best mix of good music, dope people, and of course you are in the Caribbean. I think that puts the festival a notch above others. It may not have massive production stages, but you are on white sandy beaches, 24 hour parties, 10 days long, and the sound is full enough for the venues they use.

As far as TW and EDC/Ultra, its typical to have a bunch of ty music, but most of the people on TA here saying that are jaded music snobs. The majority of the people that attend can find something they like to say the least. Most of the larger festivals include a little something for everybody.

As for a festival like burning man, I try to contribute my own music to the playa and that way I can't complain. Certain camps you find will share your taste in music so you hang around those camps and find like minded people over time.

couldn't have said it better Josh.

josh do you have any recommendations for joining a soundcamp, as someone who has never gone?

I have the list of all the soundcamps from this year and I was just going to go through them and see if any would vibe with my music taste. I also have a lot of friends who go to BM who have said they'll help me out, but none of them are associated with a soundcamp

i dont want to go to BM w/o contributing

Didn't you like drop a ton of money on SHM and stuff and claimed you were doing it cause you were with a lot of friends? Which by the way costed like half a ticket to TW for a 2 HR experience? Maybe I'm confusing you if I'am sorry..

people still go to festivals?

They started the "scene" and are going to be there through out the scene. History proves this.

Your simple minded thoughts are whats killing this country, not EDM this ing country.

i had no idea that tomorrowworld, ultra and EDC are what started the scene back in chicago a few decades ago in people's garages.
