Bought ticket but considering refund. Only because i live in San Francisco and not sure i can afford the flight on top of it. If i lived in NY I'd be there for certain. Maybe i will just hold onto it and stubhub later if i can't go. Not sure how this even compares to EZoo. if you want to hear big room "trance" from the like of W&W or trouse then festivals like that are great.
For actual good banging trance there is no where else to get this lineup in the States except ASOT which is not going anywhere outside NYC or ultra anytime soon. Maybe EDC but that is 400. This is a solid deal compared to a flight to Europe or SF where you'll pay 120 to see dash Berlin and W&W headlining at Pop, no thanks. If Esscala is making a lot of money i say more power to them. That's the price to pay for a pretty unique event |

exactly.
I think its kind of important to remember esscala, ect are BUSINESSES. They are in this to make money. End. Of. Story. And they are at no fault for that.
Until Esscala, or anyone else, come out and publicly claim to be some tax exempt non-profit organization, then i see no reason to get our panties in such a bunch. |

whoa whoa whoa... they are the business and we are consumers. Since when did everyone jump on the "defending a business" bandwagon? Give me a break. If my company charged $120 for the games we made, I'm pretty sure people would be outraged. It's your right to buy a ticket and enjoy the event, and it's my right to say I think it's a bad price for DJs that are here every month.
If you're from San Francisco, more power to you. This is the only chance you have to see all the DJs you like and you can't be flying around to NY every time you want to see JOC. Understandable.
Not only do I not have to go to the event (which I won't be doing), but I have every right to bitch and moan about a price that I think is outrageous. |

but at the end of the day, thats all we can do. Go, or not go. Be upset, and get over it.
Thats just me....trust me Id love to say more but i see no point. Actions are louder than words, tho.
Not sure anyone said that no one had a right to bitch either...just gets old after a while.
Personally, id love to see the same people complaining about this event, out at another event that is less or free.....A lot of us try to throw them....and I get maybe 60 people in the venue (outside our normal "trancefamily")...so we try... We work really hard at that. we try to throw much less events with no profit at all and people dont come, or they dont stay.
So come to those. Stay all night. Give constructive (not rude) criticism. Help the other guys get to a point where they can be the ones throwing these events and give THEM a chance to put their "money where their mouth is".
When it comes to trance, theres money that needs to be thrown down and the people swearing on the itnernet about it arent the ones throwing down the money.
So until people DO as much as they SAY...were just all sitting her circle banging ourselves
Again, no one told anyone they couldnt bitch....but I can see a few more aggressive and worthwhile ways to spend our time.... Ive even already stated a few times i am disappointed in the event myself, so its not that i dont agree with you on some level.
Id also love to know why everyone thinks ALL these artists are such an amazing line up for one 8 hour show? I mean, separately, ill take em. But who wants to hear max graham for 1 hour (whos been here recently)? solarstone for the third time in 8 months....for one hour....ect. Orjan, no offence, but damn is he an NYC resident now? |

Umm trance at EZ? OH, you mean that clap along big room crap that every sold out dj plays these days? Like Garrix Animals kind of ? Like Cosmic Gays, W&W fartfest? Because ever after year one, EZ had been trying to be Ultra Lite" |
never said anything about trance - sunday school line up is always pretty solid - last years was scuba, four tet, danny T, digweed, cassy, CvS, eats everything, green velvet, and the drumcode tent that never happened.
BTW - John O'Callaghan ripped that circle stage and showed zero mercy opening with proper order - sneijder and kearney collab, he even played stealth bomber.
Aly & Fila never got to play because it was cancelled on sunday.
If that's not Trance at EZoo then i dont know what is.... Sorry 140- uplifting or tech trance isn't nearly as popular as basically any other genre. Its not Ezoos fault if it doesn't make much sense to book something like a "WAO138" Stage.... come on - we're bias - look at my username lol |

hellosam, you continue to contradict yourself over and over. first VIP tickets for Future Sound of Egypt 350 for $300 are worth it bc its "NYC" and you enjoy a night out with friends, but an $800 flight to Europe with inexpensive lodging and cheap ticket requires to win the Lotto? wtf?
btw- we all go out in "NYC" and club entrance is normally between $30 $15, and often times Free on thursdays or off nights with guest list. At your rate I could go out with my friends (yes believe it or not I have a huge group of friends that go clubbing) any pay for entrance for every thursday, friday and saturday for over a month, and you would have still paid more for this super legit one night event with VIP... whatever VIP does for you...
I feel as though you are justifying these prices to yourself, because you are certainly not doing a good job explaining the rationale to me!
Also, I am good friends with a few Trance promoters who throw awesome, affordable, banging REAL trance shows. So for you to act like we are all some outsider peasants who just complain is ridiculous. Its my ing obligation to complain about this injustice. It will be the demise of YOUR scene. |
