it pains me to say it, given Paxahau's track record at providing us festival-goers a top notch event each year, but the piss poor sound at the main bowl Monday night really put a damper on enjoying great sets by Loco Dice and Coxy, same for some of Digweed the night before. that being said, they get a mulligan this time because I usually end each festival feeling spoiled, having enjoyed the whole experience at incredible value every year.
also, Maceo Plex is on another level from his peers, IMO. like, not even close. |
You're right. Sound was off this year at the main stage.. Underground stage sounded like bass and snares most of the time. There was enough great music elsewhere to make up for that though.
How was Maceo's beatport set? I didn't get to catch that. Caught his b2b set with Michael Mayer at St Andrew's which was musical bliss. |

I only caught the last 30 mins. b/c I was at Digweed, but those last 30 minutes were literally the best music I had heard over the whole festival and his energy level was superb. |

Depending on the songs the bass was sounding like when Loco and Carl played but like someone else mentioned it seemed to be sorted out at around 11:15pm. Carl really killed it for the last 30 minutes :)
Went to see Marco Carola at Bleu on Sunday night but it wasn't anything special.. place was pretty sketch.
I look like a Persian now from all that sun :toocool: |

| Sooo I didn't know you HAD to have a ticket to get into the closing party at St. Andrews Hall...some dude gave me a wrist band and I wizzled in through the gate and walked right in with no hassle, even after already speaking to the door guy who knew I didn't actually have a ticket, lol. I am Queen of the hustle! |
