ahhhh im sorry i didnt see this thread earlier... i would so be in for a serious topic forum! personally those are the ones i tend to click on most here in the chill-out. the only problem i see with this is that i would be completely addicted to that forum. im serious, when ever i get into a politcal debate i cant stop thinking about it all day, and cant wait to get back home to post my counter-argument and such. pretty funny coincedence too, last week i was thinking there should be a political/philo/religious forum in here as well.
count me in!

Not so long as it was moderated in a manner such as to facilitate the rational debate of relevant issues. The COR as it stands is a forum covering such a divergent array of topics that it doesn't really have any organizational structure to it whatsoever. Since these topics tend to fall into two major categories, it seems like the logical step to implement a mechanism by which they could be separated.

woohoo.. my idea was well recieved.
to tell the truth, i still think it's a so-so idea. Because this kind of stuff you WANT the average joe to read sometimes, to see what his input is. That's why protests are held in the streets and not in someones house.
on the other hand, you DON'T WANT the average joe in there spouting his inflammatory and uneducated opinion. that's why violence often breaks out at protests.
in any case, i still think it's woth a try, so.. let's do it! |
