true, but look at it this way: If u were at an event w/ a bunch of big DJ's spinning, then all of a sudden a rock band started playing AND U LIKED IT, would u have found out about that band if they were playing a different club u regularly didn't go to? well the bottom line is that about 90% of the bogus/flame comments thrown into political threads in here are made by people who wouldn't browse the serious/political/philosophy/religion forums anyway... they are made by people who are browsing the chillout just trying to be funny or cause trouble. Chances are they wouldn't take the extra effort to "look into" the 'serious' forums to cause trouble.
thats the point. and for those of you who like to talk about serious topics but are against the idea, is it THAT much harder to browse a forum containing threads that align with your interests?
just something to think about..

Okay i thought about it again and came to the conclusion that....
Im supporting the idea, too :)
Why? Because i enjoy such discussions and having our own forum for them would make the uncomfortable feeling of "hijacking" certain threads in order to fight about politics disappear. I really felt a bit umconfortable when "distrubing" the COR harmony by having "deeper" more controversial discussions. On the other hand i still will post a lot in the chill out room and hope that despite the seperation sincere topics like love depression and so on wont completely disappear, too.

A political forum? definatly!!!!!!!
You have no idea how many hours I've spent searching the internet for intellectual corners and never found one. Now a forum on our own tranceaddict place. Briliant idea.
I think there are a lot of people here who feel intellectually starved and would kill for some philosophical and socio-political discussions. This idea could really work.
And for everyone else! Simple! you don't have to get involved. Just stay away.
So common!

| I support this idea though I tend not to get involved in political conversations/debates :p In my opinion it would be decent to have a place specifically for serious discussion, leaving the chillout forum a little more chilled out :) That said, I do appreciate the fact I don't have to read or take part in political threads, so don't take this as a complaint and get all pissy. |

| last time I rallied for a forum... the notion I got was 15 signatures is OK... but 30 will definitley get you your own space, :) lets try to reach or surpass that goal... of 30 signatures... atm it is only 5 away :D |

good point bro-- the chill out room shouldnt have such serious topics as war and bush-- the threads typically get filled with ridiculous remarks and seem to end up becoming a waste-- maybe with a specific political thread, those who simply want to profess their political perspective can do so without worrying about the person after them degrading their point with jokes about George Dubuyas Bush..... |
