Jews have been persecuted since there was such a thing as jews.

Aka no one likes jews.

That's it?

try a majority of the German population.

they were all lead to believe that their struggles through hyperinflation imposed on them through the treaty of versai were exacerbated by the jews; the jews were essentially scapegoated into this fact.

Let's not forget the Italians and the french, through the vichy french regime, who were very anti jew and preferred to join with the axis rather then continue on with the allied forces. they exported 75,000 jews to concentration acmps (out of approx 400,000) and spread anti jewish propaganda all across france.

In the end, it's all teh serbs fault from back in 1914 :tongue2

Eh, Hitler was never actually elected by a majority of the German population. He really used electoral fraud/intimidation/a coup to get control of the government.
Nrg2Nfinit
sorry,

what i meant was he got the most of the popular vote. the 1933 election i think he had above 40% of the popular vote (approx 90% turnout), the rest was split between like 10 other parties.

Sure there was intimidation & propaganda (i think the two go hand in hand). But to say that there wasn't a large support for him considering the circumstances that the Germans were in would be a bit naive no?
Lews
It would indeed be naive to say that, but I never said that. I just said it was not a majority, as you first claimed.

fair enough!

Nothing fuels anti islam sentiment more than "This has nothing to do with Islam" from western leaders directly after islamic terror attacks

Maajid Nawaz is right on point here. Its Muslims like him that provide hope

I'd also like to note that hyperinflation had little to no impact on Hitler getting the plurality of votes he did. Germany was suffering from deflation when Hitler came into power, not hyperinflation. The hyperinflation had stopped almost a decade earlier :o

Was every member of the Nazi party in 1940 a bloodthirsty killer? Of course not. Yet there is no debate that the Nazi ideology was rotten to the core and led to millions of innocent people being killed.

Are all muslims terrorists? Of course not. But their ideology is just as disgusting.

Muslim ideology? I doubt that 1.6 billion muslims in the word have an ideology that equates to nazism.

That is what your saying right? or are you equating the ideology of the terrorists to that of the nazis. Please clarify.

I think in Mein kempf hitler blamed the economic despair that germany suffered during the hyperinflation on the jews. I believe the term "jew confetti" comes to mind. He did start his climb into power within that inflationary period, but you are correct that it was a time of deflation when he got the majority of the votes he did.
