I'm thinking about getting a drum machine / groovebox but would love to know what my TA Bros are using these days.

I love the Electribes but the new release really didn;t quite o it for me and the older ones are fun. Really I'd love something like the Korg Ms2000R or an RS7000 but they are bit full on when all I want is to play on something quick and fun.

Any other ideas?

Gotta be the last gen electribe. They hit the sweet spot of features/immediacy imo. Another good one is the RM1x.

Yeah, I think that's where I'm leaning but thought to check if there's any other options.

I may do an EMX as you can get the VST/AU controller for it which means I can either jam just on the Tribe, or completely integrate it in to cubase.

They're also going for as little as $200 :D

If this doesn't convince you, literally nothing will.

I had a Yamaha AN2000 once. Loved it and used it a lot, but I had to sell it to pay some bills :(

4MB sample Ram (playback)

is that per sample or total simultaneously?

31.2khz what, why not 32k atleast. I swear those other volcas are pieces of , this one is mildly intriguing but its too ing gimped.
rubez
i have the volca sample.

it's fun and cool, though you shouldn't be expecting it to tick a lot of boxes at £100. the isolators sound amazing.

a third hand would be good when trying to operate this thing. too much shift keying required.

someone creative could no doubt get results far exceeding its price point. there is no perfect groovebox, even ones costing ten times this, so moaning about this one seems stupid... there is always something to moan about!

you can fit 100+ samples on it, which is more than some drum machines, and the sound quality is fine.
