Pfft. Nostalgia's not what it used to be :p
You know it's funny, I hear "this place is dead" and "Everyone's left" but it's bollocks.
Forums in general are WAY down but when someone posts a new thread, this place gets a dozen replies in a day and that's the just the c0r. I don't know any other forums that still get this level of action, unless they are technical forums moderated by companies in place of tech support (i.e. adobe) and even then they're slow. Sure, it aint 2001-2007 when this place was ing rammed, but then social media has dliuted all platforms for everyone.
The c0r feels the fade more than other places though; the c0r is effectively a chat room on a forum, and FB obviously did that better but there's many people (like me) who ing hate facebook and/or don't really want to share all my personal info with complete strangers just to have a laugh. I have to use Fb for business and it's becoming less and less relevant, and more people are leaving it or letting their accounts go dormant. I check it maybe twice a week and that's just to see who has a birthday coming up lo.
Some of us have been here a long while (2001 myself) and come and go for periods but as I've always said, TA is the Hotel california of forums; You can log out any time you like but you can never leave. |

The nature of online communities is so very fickle.... hell, look at Google+ ...they spent countless millions trying to get that to become 'a thing' and it never took off. |
