Friday 124 - Irma Edition

Sup, you old, dirty COR wh00r3z? Any FL TAs out there riding out Irma this weekend? Crazy ass storm...the predictor shows it still having up to 85 mph winds when it reaches Atlanta, GA. I'm an hour or so north of Chattanooga, TN, so it could still be packing 45 mph winds once it hits my area. Nature will humble a man, sometimes. Also, if you are one of my fellow Amuricans, Equifax lost all your personally identifiable information earlier this year. But don't worry...I'm sure they'll offer us "free" credit monitoring for a year! :D

FLTA in exile here.

Family and friends are preparing - it's apparently already a mess. She's a beauty from afar, though. Mother Nature..

Myself, I'm finally in for my first club night in London. I hope not to spend the entire night comparing it to Berlin :o

I would imagine there are fewer Commies in London, so maybe you won't have much to compare. :o Visit the COR Dank/Communism thread to be sure, though.

I just had a baby week from hell. Breastfeeding is the single most demanding thing I have ever done...I see why women either give it up or don't bother at all!

I am having a glass of wine tonight, I need to chill the out, lol.

I've had some absolutely amazing nights in London, and some completely forgettable ones as well. Who are you seeing/where are you going?

I've got a busy day tomorrow shipping boxes of crap out of our flat in preparation for our move. All I'm doing this evening is blasting out the prog and tech house in Traktor until I get bored or the wine runs out.

What makes it so demanding? The frequency?

Asking for a friend.

Yep the frequency for sure. It's supply and demand, so you have to follow baby's lead or else you won't produce enough milk (breasts are actually amazing, whoa...and the relationship between baby and breasts/breastmilk, also whoa).

When babies have growth spurts they will cluster feed to ensure you produce enough milk to meet their coming needs. This can be a few feedings really close together over a couple hours...or for SEVERAL hours, as I have been enduring for the past week. I'm talking straight feeding from about 5pm-10/11pm EVERY NIGHT.

The actual feeding part is lovely, easy, and an amazing bonding experience. But the fact that you have an 8 pound human attached to you severely limits what you can do and where you can go. I have felt like a prisoner in my own house, it's very isolating for sure.

I highly suggest you and/or your wife downloads the Wonder Weeks app. It's all about specific, predictable developmental "leaps" that all babies go through, so that when it's happening to you and your child, you at least know what's happening is normal and can find ways to cope. Lol.

This has been ing hard. Good idea for a control freak, have a a kid LOL. :D
