ok, biznology, you didn't say drugs are are all there is in life :haha:
As for the drinking matter, well I do drink but not often, I have never got drunk cause I only drink small quantities when I do. If I do drink at least a week passes before I touch a drink again but usually there where times which I hadn't touched a drink for months, not even a beer. And please don't compare alchohol with something so serious.
And come on, why are you attacking me? did I ever accuse those who do drugs? All I wanted to know are the reasons that make people use drugs, but I guess you got upset when I said that drugs are harmful and you tried to prove me wrong by insulting me and trying to make me look stoopid because you have no valid arguments to prove your point. That shows that YOU know nothing about drugs, either that or you know and you don't want to accept it. |

It's annoys me that I spend so much time online I'm unable to read all-caps without giving myself a headache, through automatically shouting the words in my head :D
I'll answer your question though, except the answer is bloody obvious. Because IT'S FUN. The feeling is nice.
Sure, there are potential side effects but when it came to deciding whether these risks were worth it I decided they were.
To use my usual argument, I know there are people on this board who go snowboarding. I'm pretty sure they are aware that snowboarding can be very dangerous, it's a very risky hobby. But they enjoy it, it's fun, it makes them feel good. So they decided to do it anyway. They don't have to snowboard to have a good time, there are plenty of other ways, and they are perfectly capable ot having fun on a mountain without doing it.
Some people like to box. A huge chance of getting hurt. Even if they don't suffer a huge injury the cumulative effects are pretty much certain to lead to problem in later life when they're old. But they're willing to take that risk. Personally, I wouldn't want to but if they do then all credit to them, I'm not going to bitch about it. They don't have to box to have a good time, there are plenty of other less dangerous sports, and they are perfectly capable of having fun without doing it.
Me, I enjoy the euphoria I get from ecstacy on a Saturday night. I like smoking weed too, coz it helps me relax and wind down in the evenings or after a heavy nights clubbing. I don't have to take drugs to have a good time in a club, I could drink or even do nothing.
Hope that satisfys your curiosity. |

I think this answers a couple of points raised. With the exception of smoking ciggarettes (which I never quite understood) people enjoy the effects drugs have. A totally different state of mind, something they've never experienced before, most of the time with a positive effect. Obviously a lot of people think about doing drugs, and quite often the side-effects will outweigh the positives for them. But an awful lot of people enjoy the rush, the atmosphere and the sense of something new and exciting (if it's the first time). That's just the way it goes, We like to experiment and most of us (in our lifetime) want to try and have as many fun experiences as we possibly can. That's partly the way I like to think about it anyway... |
